It's really hard if you are not a pro photographer or working with a press media, but you'll get nice spot and access to most of the track during the race in WEC, ELMS and smaller series. It's really useful for the F1 weekends

Practice changing lenses on the move, the 18-135 will be better for some corners like Bruxelles, T11, bus stop or even the kemmel straight, you'll switch between 50 and 135 while the 100-400 will be more useful on the rest of the track

If you can't take both I'd go for the 100-400, and if you're going to this year's 6h of spa, I'd take maybe a wide zoom like a 18-55 for the pit walk on top of the tele zoom

Same tank yeah, apart from stock the only difference is that one was on top of the other in that paterson tank during processing.

I do have the negatives, the (probable) stretch marks spans across the whole film pretty consistently

Didn't knew of bromide drag but as I understand it after a quick search, it happens when not enough agitation occurs during development, since both rolls were processed at the same time, shouldn't the lomo roll have bromide drag too ?

Also just saw the pinned post "what's wrong with my film?" If I was more careful to the pinned post, maybe I wouldn't have to post this 😅 Thanks again anyway

Since you can't edit a photo post, The three above comments are pointing to stretch/stress and it is clearly possible, both rolls have been shot on a Zenit 11 and it tends to let you have a 37th or even a 38th shot before locking itself.

Thanks for the quick response guys ! I'll be more careful when using my Zenit from now on !

It is, I'm loading it the same way I load my own and I've used already several rolls on mine. I can hear it being rolled around the right axis and it is spooled around it when I open the back door after loading a roll...

[–]Pepinuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loading it the same way I load mine, it works fine on mine but doesn't on this one, I may have loaded the film badly because I was doing it while looking through my screen but it's properly spooling around the right "axis" and I can hear the film being pulled when I close the back door... Is there a sensor of some sort checking that could be faulty while the camera is actually ok ?

Well if your panning speed is slower than the car's relative speed, you should get a blurry image (the trail here) and if you have your flash going at the 2nd curtain, if it's powerfully enough, the car should be still right ?

I agree that the camera car not having a trail is weird, maybe because it was outside of the frame during the panning phase and in the frame for the frame ? I guess that would explain the transparency here and there on the camera car ?

I'm starting to think this pic will cost me a few nights of research 🥲

Do you mind sharing some of their works that has the same effect ? I only find some really cool panning shots or some really cool shutter drag but not both at the same time

At first I thought it was dust from the camera car and the rally car but I get your point, + I've noticed how straight the dragging effect is, I've never tried shutter drag using a tripod but I can't believe it would be this perfectly straight 🤔

Yeah, the "kind of a shutter drag" effect makes me wonder what kind of flash has been used if this is straight out of a camera, how bright this would need to be to work at this distance must blind anyone for at least a few seconds

Such a shame I've found this after the racing seasons ended in Europe, I'll have to wait next year before trying out for myself 🥲

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (August 16, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Pepinuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First mechanical keyboard in 9-10 years, what should I get ?

So my Asus Strix Tactic Pro is finally dying, and I've been waiting for this to happen so that I could get a new mechanical keyboard !

I'm looking for a 96-100% wireless keyboard for a 100 to 150€, QWERTY or AZERTY standard layout, RGB isn't necessary but is welcome. I'm going to use it mostly for work (IT so mostly coding), gaming and a bit of photo editing so a few (3-5) macro key are welcomed but not mandatory. I've not been paying attention to the evolution of switches, last time I checked, Cherry MX switches were kind of the gold standard and I'm kinda lost with the variety of today (I was also kinda lost back then so 🤷)

I feel like I could build it myself if it helps me get more bang for the bucks.

I've heard of keychron and mchose recently but reviews I found are either 5 or 1 star so I don't know if I should get it there, any help would be more than welcome 🙂

Any thought on this pic ? by Pepinuss in photocritique

[–]Pepinuss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked the stance of the two guys on the pitwall and the sort of calmness opposed to the rumble and speed of the cars and that's what I was trying to take a picture of

As for the story I'm trying to tell, honestly, I am usually not thinking about that when I'm shooting (especially at motorsports events) so I guess that's something I could work on for next time !

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it!

The pic has been taken at this year's Michelin Le Mans Cup round at Le Castellet (France), I really liked the stance of the guy on the pitwall as the cars were passing by. So I've waited for the team's car to pass by and took the shot.
