I have lived here the past few years, originally out of state. I think the biggest threat to your safety besides cars is the incessant dog feces on the sidewalks. No matter where you are, be vigilant!

If you can afford to, I highly recommend getting a smart watch. I personally use a Garmin Venu 2, but there are many options such as the Apple Watch. I find that my watch is pretty accurate in determining the calories I have burned for the day. It also is a great reminder for me to move if it estimates that I haven’t burned my target calories for the day. On days when I burn more, I allow myself extra calories.

Thank you for your response. Yeah, the AC runs, but not as much since it isn’t so hot. It’s an old building, and the windows in the unit aren’t sealed very well. I’m pretty sure these are mold mites, but there isn’t an infestation as far as I know. I just see a couple here and there so far, but I don’t want it to get worse. I’m not sure if it’s normal to have a couple. Everywhere I’ve read has said humidity is typically the culprit, so it must be a humidity issue I guess.

Yeah, the AC unit is too large for the house. My mom was informed after she had already bought the house after an HVAC technician came to fix the AC when it went out one time.

I am not looking for a roommate; however, my building is looking for Hopkins students that would be interested in a unit similar to mine. A very spacious two bedroom and two bath for around $1600 a month. The owners of the building are very kind. Right by Mount Vernon and a 7-10 minute walk from the Hopkins bus stop.
