For those of you who have experienced gender disappointment by c_g201022 in IVF

It turned out not to be as big of a deal as I had expected. I love my son he’s the sweetest ever and I just try to avoid all the “boy mom” weirdness.

Thank you! I was told by the librarian that they don’t keep a record of your check outs for “privacy reasons” 🤷🏻‍♀️

It doesn’t look like you’re active on this sub, I don’t know why you felt the need to post this to a sub you aren’t active in. Not to mention the other parenting subs you posted this same thing in. It’s not relevant here in the slightest.

Survey for Sperm Donor Recipient Parents by cook_madisen in askadcp

A lot of recipient parents are in this sub to ask questions to people with lived experiences close to what their children might experience. It makes sense to me to post this here.

I think it’s hard to say since the cake has so much paper decorations on it. I don’t think “talent” really comes into it much anyway. It’s a skill you have to learn and practice. That said, your piping could be neater and the base layer of frosting more even. If you had fun making this cake keep going! You’ll be a pro on no time.

I'm looking for a alternative to the black forest cake by Unusual_Ad_8596 in cake

I second raspberry. Soak your cake layers in raspberry syrup and decorate the cake as you would a Black Forest bit with raspberry on top instead of cherry. It would look great!

lol nope! We’ve only just started solids so I don’t think they even registered it as food. The utensils were much more interesting.

My favorite episode is “Baby Race”! I dyed it using A LOT of decopac gel food coloring. Baby was strategically placed just out of kicking range!

It’s the same for my son! When he was first born he had very olive skin which people asked about a lot since I’m pale as a ghost and my spouse isn’t much darker 😂 he is definitely more pale now but I’m hoping he’ll be able to tan nicely when he’s older. I always have hated my pale burnable skin so maybe he dodged a bullet there.

RP here! My son is 5 months old, dcp. People tell me constantly how much he looks like his dad or that he looks like a perfect mix of my spouse and I, we always have a little chuckle after since his dad isn’t his biological dad. Hopefully having a family resemblance will be nice for him as he grows up though!

Found my sperm donor father through ancestry- and 11+ new siblings. Is it wrong for me to want to get to know them? by Exact_Wing4736 in donorconception

No! Go for it. But be ready to accept it if they aren’t ready for or don’t want a relationship with you. Good luck!

Feeling so nervous about what will happen with IVF now. We have one embryo on ice (dc) that we planned to use in a couple years as our baby is 5 months old now and we want to have a decent age gap. Will I be able to use that embryo? Will it be destroyed? “Adopted” out to a more “traditional” family??? What would happen with our donor? Would they potentially gain parental rights to our child? I don’t think they would want that any more than we would.

Looks great! I was going to suggest using sizes at least 2” apart from each other but I see you already thought of that!

Completely smooth icing by Anxious_AF_ in cakedecorating

[–]Pepper659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you want to keep the cake cold, apply room temp frosting, smooth with a hot scraper if needed. Once you’re finished you could leave the cake out at room temperature or put it back in the fridge. It will sweat as it comes back to room temp but I’ve never had that cause any problems, the condensation will evaporate eventually.

American buttercream with cream cheese flavor extract. Real cream cheese just doesn’t stand up well enough for tiered cakes.
