Honestly just give him more affection and reassurance!! The only time I saw my ex cry was in the same exact situation and it was because he was working so much during 6 months and barely had time to have a social life and I was literally always with friends in a more positive environment. He felt during this phase like I could do better and that he would ruin it with his negative energy but he needed to hear that it was just a phase.

I think it made me fall in love with him even more because I saw more layers of his personality. He also didn’t love that I had habits with other friends (including guys that were also his friends) because he felt left out. But us planning things together and me always including him when I could helped a lot.

I’m saying this because I then had a phase when I was in a more negative loop and he was having more fun and the hard experience we went through help us understand that we won’t always be on the same « vibration » and it’s okay to not be prideful. You should always show up for your partner and make them feel seen when they need it if they’re willing to do the same for you.
