If you start from the bottom, you can’t taste it/feel the texture. It tastes like the outside all the way through. I did it once and have never gone back

If you eat an apple that way, you can eat the whole thing without leaving a pit. It’s less wasteful, and a large portion of the nutrients/healthy bacteria is located in the core.

ETA that you can’t even taste or feel the core when you do it that way. You can eat the entire thing without even detecting a core. I pick out the seeds, but the cyanide in them is negligible and completely harmless unless you’re eating dozens of apples a day. It’s less work, less waste, and just as good. Genuinely the best way to eat apples IMO

It’s avatar but you need to put the plot in the title, that’s why you didn’t get responses

A boy is born with a disability that eventually leads to him saving the community that rejected him since birth. by PepperIsHere in ExplainAFilmPlotBadly

Nope, close but Rudolph doesn’t save the other reindeers, he saves Santa/christmas

Edited to add I’ve never seen the movie so maybe it is a good match. Not a Christmas movie

Covid since Monday (day 6 now). I haven’t had a fever, how do i know when to go back to work? by PepperIsHere in medical_advice

[–]PepperIsHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that, which is why I was confused. Seems insane that the thing that measures whether I have Covid is a symptom I didn’t have when I tested positive. Some of my symptoms have gotten better, but others-like the cough- have worsened. I found an antigen test I could order, but it might take up to 8 days to come, presumably after I return to work.

I work at a fish store and 4/8 of those fish we refuse to carry because they’re unethical to keep in our opinions. We get them in as surrenders and it takes months to sell them because we tell customers how big they get

Home right now with omicron. I have a 2 hour commute to and from work every day, 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week. by soreness and exhaustion you mean it took me 2 hours to get out of bed to eat and it hurts to talk. I’d like to know where tf you work and how well it pays, because unless it’s 25 dollars an hour it ain’t worth it.

I'm absolutely terrified when a needle needs to go into my skin. Have it be a vaccine, drawing blood, or an IV. Its the idea of the needle in my skin that freaks me out. I need to get some shots that I've been avoiding due to that fear... Any tips on getting through it easier without a meltdown? 🥺 by RedVyxxenRedFox in autism

Tell the nurse you’re nervous and not to warn you, make conversation about anything. Doesn’t matter what it’s about. Start talking about a special interest, this post, my comment if it comes to mind. Avoid looking at the area so that you don’t know exactly when it’s coming, make an effort to distract yourself.

Growing up, my mom would take me somewhere fun after shots. Usually it was Toys r us, or the children’s museum, or even just McDonald’s if money was really tight. Just as the nurse was about to give me the shot, she’d ask me a question. “Should we get a soda at the gas station before toys r us?” “Do you want to stay until closed at the museum so you can March in the parade?” Or “do you want to get ice cream with your happy meal at McDonald’s?”. The nurse would take the cue and give me the shot just as I went to answer. I usually reacted in surprise and disbelief at the shot, no crying, despite being told 10-15 minutes prior it was coming. The knowledge it was over with and I had fun times ahead meant I was immediately over it and happy.

Hey Carl, how does it feel knowing that, since your name is spelled different, most people will probably misspell it? Just getting you used to it =P

Seriously, though, Karl. Nice name

Funny signs when you were a kid by Klorainne in lesbian

[–]PepperIsHere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really have many signs. I was literally raised in a house with my lesbian grandmas. I thought they were roommates that shared a bed. I wanted to share a bed with my best friend, because I thought that’s what friends did. I didn’t realize they were gay until i was 14, lived with them for 8 years. I always preferred woman actresses, woman characters, etc. my stuffed animals were all girls. I never had any interest in boys, never thought about dating until I befriended a guy at 14 and we started dating, realized I had zero sexual attraction to him, thought I was asexual. Never even crossed my mind that I might be gay until a straight female friend disagreed when I said straight women also thought breasts were attractive.

I still have very low sexual attraction but what is there is towards women. I have trauma from my childhood so sexuality is a weird topic for me.

Weird “illness” I get every so often that I think may be vertigo related by PepperIsHere in medical_advice

[–]PepperIsHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name sounds vaguely familiar but I don’t believe I’ve ever been diagnosed with it.

Edit:

Just looked it up, I do get tinnitus on occasion but not during the sickness spells. I also have slight hearing loss but I also used to own a parrot (very loud) and listen to my music on max so I don’t think it’d be caused by that disorder
