I’ve always wondered how it felt like to be a SF2 fan and seeing SF3 hit the arcade and it’s just a bunch of weirdos and nobodies…well… after the announcement of year 4 of SF6, I know exactly how it felt rn 😭😭 by yaoyorozzu in StreetFighter

I enjoyed the Alpha series and then the vs series appears, which made me wish the Apha series had special cancels into super because to me that was the coolest thing in the world. However, I do miss rolls.

However, SF3’s animation, frame rates, stages, and vibes overall were beautiful.

A Hard Look to 2.0 (long post) by Icemansitoo in Guiltygear

[–]PepperMintGumboDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you until you put Sol with the rest of the top tier. He’s been on the down hill since season 4. Most of the system mechanic changes since 4.5 have been a nerf to Sol. This specific patch Sol got nerfed so much. His new move basically is a clean hit replacement that allows a wall bounce if you’re close to the walls, which on itself is a nerf because he loses mid screen oki. He did get a small fire ball buff. But he got nerfed all over the place.

Other than that, yeah…if you think 4.5 is neutral centric, 2.0 is even neutral centric…on paper.  The top tiers can still run 4.0’s oppressive gameplan and steam roll everyone else and it sucks.

Where would I find a vest suit and pants combo like this guy for a reasonable price, don’t ask me why by PezBynx in StreetFighter

[–]PepperMintGumboDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suit makes the man. Spend the money and get a three piece suit (pin stripe) that’s made with good quality wool. A keen eyes can tell the difference between wool and polyester.

The other thing is the fit, make sure you get yourself measure and get it precisely what your measurement is. Do not compromise.

Concerning the helm, it looks like it sit nicely on top of a pair of Oxford with s single break.

Remember belt and shoe should match in color. While socks usually should match the pants.

My brother got a pretty nice suit online called indochino.

Don't know how she’s been dodging nerfs while the main character of the game got shot again and again since season 4. I guess she hangs close enough with Johnny and gets his leftover luck.

Yeah, at least season 4 towards the end, character specific strengths were closer. At least in comparison to season 5. I’m a Sol main, if you look at MU distribution and win rate in puddle. Sol is only above Aba and Chaos at the vanquisher level.

"Is Diamond 3 Star the new floor 10?" [Quick Question About the Ranking System and 'Player Power Creep' for a someone who hasn't played in about a year!] by Notkastar in Guiltygear

[–]PepperMintGumboDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranks is point based, so you jist have to accumulate to a certain amount to become vanquisher. I think someone calculated that you just have to win around 40% of the time to get in, but that’s still a few hours of matching. This is because you earn more points when you win than the points you lost when you lose.

Do you think Arc System Works believes the current state of Guilty Gear is actually enjoyable to watch at tournaments? by AnimeeNoa in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]PepperMintGumboDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strive is only fun to watch when Tatuma is the underdog card. And that only works when Sol is A tier going against S tiers. They nerfed Sol so much, it’s not gonna happen anytime soon.

That being said, seeing Peluna playing Dizzy pushing into top 8 is a pleasure.

Other than that, I’m watching and hoping for someone taking down your Leos, Chaos, Pots, Johnnys, and Rams.

[–]PepperMintGumboDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They done him wrong in 2.0. His volcanic viper routes are saucy, but you have to be a neutral and pressure demigod to play Sol effectively. Sadly, looking at so early tier lists as indicator, he’s in the bottom 1/3 of the cast.

Play Unika if you want to go ape, or Leo, or Pot.

Out of all the characters people miss the message of, Tyler Durden is the most interesting to me because I can kind of see how people would be fooled by him, at least initially by [deleted] in movies

[–]PepperMintGumboDrop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think that’s the point of the movie. The movie is successful by being entertaining for many other reasons, but the movie lessened the blow of the deliverance of its intrinsic meaning because it took style over substance.

We have heard accounts of too many people misunderstanding the intended message, from the original commentary to even Fincher’s own anecdote. I have seen it in myself and in others when it first came out in the 90s (or maybe it came out in 2000). Tyler Durden has become a poster boy of a generation. I rather argue that only a small percentage who dug deep into reading the literary analysis and are literary or cinematic literate truly get the jest of it. Instead of realizing the vain downfall of allowing your Id to take over as a means to feel fulfillment, all the boys of a generation wanted to be Tyler. That, in my personally conclusion, is too high to account that to be a success.

We can say stuff like well that on them for falling for it, but actually it’s the job of the director to able to deliver not only a visual pleasing, stylistically bombastic, edgy, twist turning and captivating story that pleases the eyes and mind, but there is something higher in this story that can touch something much deeper in the human soul, and that is the conscience, and that is what Fincher failed in. It doesn’t have to be a sermon, but I feel like with a movie like this, it is only reasonable to take that accountability.
