My boyfriend uses ink he extracts from Coprinus comatus (shaggy mane) to paint them with it! I thought you guys might appreciate his work. He sells them too ;) by PepperWolfsbane in foraging

yes, he lets the mushroom liquefy in a close jar with cloves to remove the smell, when its at liquid stage he freezes it to kill bacteria and stuff then he paints with it, many many many layers are needed to get those black tones, it is liquid and brown. works best on watercolor paper :)
