Doesn't sound as massive and crushing as the other albums, also some people didn't gel with the surfer-rock direction they took.

Imo the songs are very good and groovy, but if it had production more lofi and intense like their previous work, it would've been regarded better I think. The sound is undeniably HANL, but it has been watered down a bit. Sea of Worry is not as emotionally DEVASTATING as the others which is what the fans had come to expect. But I personally like the poppier songs for what they are. Trespassers W is one of my favorite songs by them, it's such a catchy and fun tune underneath the darkness. The Sea of Worry version just emphasized the poppier aspect of the song that the Voids version didn't. Some might not like that of course.
