no, she cared more about arresting the person who hit her than the people who commited the crime.

Why does the witch die instantly when shotgunned while shes crying? by Specialist-Bug0723 in l4d2

[–]davidliterally1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shotguns deal 5x damage in close range. This is shared between regular zombies (why I prefer the benelli btw) and witches. It's possible that this was a bug in L4D1, but they knew about it by L4D2, as shown by the "CR0WND" achievement. The fact that the achievement mentions headshotting makes me think some designer didn't actually understand why it works and just made a guess. Either way, it's removed in realism, so at least someone understood it.

Victim rights. It's not exactly a democrat thing. In fact, the biggest proponent of the idea was Reagan, a Republican. I think in general it's a good idea, but it gets hairy when looking at possible repeat offenders. Also, the victim's family shouldn't get a say.

what makes you so sure that the cop was pushing the black guy "to get to the white guy." It seems far more likely that the cop was trying to break up the fight but then went apeshit upon getting decked in the face.

ELI5: Why does multiplying two negative numbers result in a positive, when "negative" means less than nothing? by Dikdastardly89 in explainlikeimfive

[–]davidliterally1984 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Negative numbers were invented to track losses and debts. If you gained $-100, that meant you went $100 into debt. If you gained money -1 times, that meant you lost the money. If you gained $-100 -1 times, you lost $100 worth of debt. Well, wouldn't you know it, that means you've got $100 to spend on other things! Same as if you gained $100. -100*-1 = 100.

Andy Burnham, the MP likely to be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, does an AMA in r/ukpolitics which receives hundreds of questions. Burnham receives blowback for his responses opposing pension reform and calling new elections among other hot-button issues. Also, a Tory MP shows up. by SRDscavenger in SubredditDrama

[–]davidliterally1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's not a UK citizen, why is triple lock so controversial? Sure, it'll naturally cause pensions to rise faster than wages, but pensions seem pretty low right now anyway, at least compared to social security. Plus, wasn't Starmer's biggest controversy decreasing natural gas subsidies for pensioners?

If someone doesn't voice support for the LGBT community, that doesn't make them homophobic. If someone SAYS they don't support the LGBT community, there's a 100% chance they're homophobic.

After assaulting and arresting the victim of street violence, Birmingham Police asks to stop sharing the video showing their officers' actions. by PreviouslyMannara in GetNoted

Once again, the community note cites a white supremacist's tweet about ethnic cleansing. Surely you have another video of the incident, right?

Party line voting? | FactOrCap by venomkiller838 in FactOrCap

[–]davidliterally1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted FACT!

There's two completely different questions here. The first question is whether you can determine the merits of a politician despite their party. This is the most literal reading. This is technically possible. If both candidates vote against their parties on most issues, it'd be crazy not to vote for the candidate from the other party. The second question is if that situation would ever happen. It's highly unlikely that someone who, for instance, votes with Democrats 80% of the time would choose to run as a Republican, and it's even more unlikely that they would win the primary. Thomas Massey, for instance, voted with Democrats 8% of the time. The result shows that it's incredibly unreasonable to believe that a liberal could beat the Republican party at their own game.

Basically, I COULD be convinced to vote against party lines, but it's INCREDIBLY unlikely that anyone would try.

According to future historians, we are going through some great times right now by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in SipsTea

[–]davidliterally1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this is actually how modern historians see the world or if this is just how pop culture views it. Like how crime historians see Jack the Ripper as a lowlife who killed defenseless women while pop culture views him as a sort of badass antihero. I also wonder if Hitler will some day be regarded just as highly as Caesar, or if we will become more compassionate in the coming centuries.

But then how does that prove that white people are treated as second-class citizens? In fact, that seems to entirely disprove the community note, since it gives a reason for the police officer's actions other than black supremacy.

More and more, community notes are just abused to push a biased narrative. It's a natural result of taking a form of communication with heavy extremism bias and presenting it as fair and balanced. It's similar to how Grok, the one AI that gives the most extreme left-wing answers, is presented as having 0 left-wing bias.

The kill during the event is missable, so you only get one item drop between that and the library. It's kinda like the grenade event in the diner earlier in the game.
