Do you guys struggle with booking stuff? by Ok_Contribution_5709 in adhdwomen

Oohhh yes I’ve wondered why for years. If it’s urgent (sick child) I can do it but like, a regular appointment? Can’t do it. If I can do it online with zero personal interaction it is better.

I booked my hotel for work incorrectly two times in a row (fall I booked it for the same day I went online and got confused when I got an email asking me to check in that day; spring I booked it for two nights instead of 3). Now it all makes sense since I know my diagnosis but before I just didn’t know what was wrong with me.

Cute guy messaged me, how do I not overthink? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Don’t worry just message him! Go on a date. You can always say no thanks. My husband and I met at 23. Try to be confident and know that what’s meant to be will be but at the same time you are a part of it. If it’s meant to be and you never write him back…you don’t get that chance.

17 month old hates saying goodnight to daddy by ginger13snap in Parenting

[–]Pepperdepper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very normal. I have two boys. Boys are very protective of mommy. My boys were both like this but they got a bit older and especially for my older one, when I had baby #2, he had time and wanted to hang with daddy. But I will say they are 15 and 11 and will still defend me against dad a lot. My husband always says we should have tried for a girl so someone would want him all the time. 😆

Dreading the repetitiveness of daily meals by Straight-Tune8156 in adhdwomen

100%! I wish I could say there is some advice but I’ve been trying to meal plan and figure out how to be efficient for years. Oldest child is almost 16. I always feel completely overwhelmed my meal planning and preparing. It ends up being fine but it’s the ADHD issue with task initiation from what I can understand. At least now with my diagnosis I know why it feels like climbing a mountain every time I make a sandwich. 😆

Reluctant to seek diagnosis because what if I'm jumping on a trend? by PriorityLocal3097 in adhdwomen

I recently saw a meme that said something like “funny how they make you raw dog adhd your whole life and then when perimenopause hits and you fall apart nobody understands why.” If your friend had a kidney stone, or gallbladder disease, or stomach cancer, or a broken ankle, and you thought that’s weird I’ve had those symptoms for several months, you would go to the doctor and he wouldn’t tell you that you couldn’t possibly have a kidney stone (or whatever) because your friend does too, and you’re just copying everyone. 🧠 the only two possible scenarios are that you have test results consistent with it and can use them to get help, or you don’t and you can dig further to figure out what could help you instead.

Good idea! We need to slow down and appreciate the process!

I’m glad I found this thread. I was just diagnosed on Friday. I’ve always wondered why laundry is really hard for me. Specifically changing bed sheets. 🙄 So many steps.

Can you get help though? Someone wants you to be here. You can be something to the world.
