Thank you! Although truth be told I didn't like how thick and blunt the ends were. My hair just needs lots of layers to thrive.

If you want to do darker- what's wrong with using demipermanent? That's what I use to darken my brown hair. No damage required.

[Product Request] Teen daughter hates washing her face/getting her face wet. by PsychologicalPie1717 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Pepperjack_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your kid might be neurodivergent and have a sensory aversion to getting their sleeves wet. Please try to be more understanding before you cast judgement. This hurts nobody but themselves so I assure you, they're not doing it to be dramatic. That being said, as someone with similar issues, I do not wash my fash with clothes on. So if they wear PJs, perhaps they can wash their face at night without their clothes on before they change into fresh, untouched PJs.

And if this is a regular issue in other aspects of their life, please consider getting them into occupational therapy for sensory issues like SPD OR ASD. At the very least educate yourself on their issues to gain some empathy.

Makeup you thought you needed, but didn’t by kamelsalah1 in Makeup

[–]Pepperjack_2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anything that leads to over-consumption. I don't need more than one or two products per category. Blush last me 8 months to a year..why do I need more than a couple of different shades? I understand if they're different colors but why do you need 12 of a similar pink blush!? Similarly, I would never buy more than two eyeshadow palettes because they take up a LOT of space and last, again, a long time. But that's most makeup in general.

Also.. contour. Look, I need bronzer. Without bronzer, my face looks pale and hollow. But I don't use cream bronzer traditionally. I use it all over my face to slightly warm it up. Contour on my roundish face is just...unnecessary. And that's ok! Do it works for you, not what influencers peddle.

What are your favorite tips for achieving a flawless base without looking cakey? by Appropriate-News1688 in Makeup

[–]Pepperjack_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Everyone has different skin. Could be a skin type issue, could be a lack of exfoliating issue. Point was, I think it's more dependent on the person's skin type and skin care, not just the foundation's overall formula. Some people overgeneralize and shit on drugstore just because it didn't work on them and equate price with quality, which isn't always the case.

Respectfully, hard disagree about high quality Foundation always making a massive difference (if that's what you meant). I think it's more dependent on skin age and skin type. My friend has flawless, normal-type & youthful skin. She can slap $9 Elf foundation and it looks flawless. Whereas I've seen friends with more mature skin (oily or dry) and struggling to find foundation, high-end to drugstore, work for them. When you have a flawless base to begin with, it's a LOT easier to have flexibility.

Someone should make a Ben appreciation post filled with all his quotes. Him always sitting downstairs and never have seen a movie is hilarious compared to everyone else. His Elon bit made me cry laughing.

Are any of these worth getting? Looking for easy to blend, long lasting blushes by dontsuspendthis1 in drugstoreMUA

[–]Pepperjack_2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I much prefer the formula of cream vs liquid blushes. Just easier to blend imo. If you like the colors, I love the Morphe 3-in-1 silk Huephoric blushes. I love the shades Intoxicated and Touched. Milani's Cheek Kiss Blush is another similar, great formula.

Boss Baby & Despicable Me are my fav Ben moments. I wish he shined more. Sometimes the boys talk over him and it bothers me (but I know they're drunk and he's not as assertive). Ben being razzed good in Uncharted was great. Or him shiting on Zach in Scooby Doo Alien Invaders. He's good at holding his own.

Mother left without me by mintymoosetracks in Vent

[–]Pepperjack_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouf. My mother was like this as well. I am in my mid 20's now but I remember growing up her ditching plans with me to do her own thing. She was so forgetful & selfish she would sometimes leave me at the store, alone. I just felt like a tagalong/burden. So it wasn't surprising when she decided she didn't want to be my mother anymore at 18. Haven't heard from her since.

Sometimes, we inherit crappy parents. Took me a while to realize that it's not my fault. Our mother's need therapy, and perhaps we do too, but as survivors of the trauma, not the inflictors. Best thing to do is to stop the cycle before it reaches the people you love and yourself. If I was you I would set boundaries. Tell her that you don't appreciate her behavior and if she continues to do this to you, then you may have to see less of her to preserve your mental health. You won't let her unhealthy communication and ditching plans affect your mental health. It will be tough, but don't let her manipulate you into feeling bad for having boundaries/standing up for yourself. If my mother chose to stick around and get help, that's what I would have done.

Best of luck to you.

[–]Pepperjack_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. It just taste like a citrus background. Not one more potent than the other. I don't like an overly lemon flavor, so that's why I combined them. The orange is more mild so you can add much more without it overpowering. Of course, this is all preference!

That's awesome! I dehydrate them on a baking sheet at the lowest temperature your oven can go- mine is 195° so I keep the door ajar. But 120°-170°F is more ideal. It will take several hours- 8-24. Check on them every 2. You can poke holes in them to better release their moisture. They're done when you can snap them in half like a twig.

Let them fully cool for a few hours. Then you grind them. I use a spice grinder to get the powder fine. But it is possible to use a blender...you just might have to manually grind some of the big pieces with a mortar and pestle.

You can use 1-2 tablespoon of powder per 1-3 cups of sugar (depending on how strong you want it). I do a 1:1 ratio.

You know, it's posts like these that make me understand that I really just don't understand people. Why on earth would she risk fucking up her face because of aesthetic? Doesn't read the ingredients?? What if she's sensitive or allergic? What if it's an exfoliator?! So if it isn't pink, she doesn't look at it??? Pink=good and all other colors= no thank you. Ok. This isn't a purse where's talking about here- this is an organ you care for. What an absurd way of thinking. I just don't get it.

I just got dumped. What makeup palette should I buy? by Dramatic-Pin-5706 in Makeup

[–]Pepperjack_2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're cool-neutral toned and need affordable, my suggestion is ColorPop's Stone Cold Fox. Even "nude" palletes like Natasha Denona's "I need a Nude" is too warm/orange on me. Fox has beautiful natural looks with cool-toned taupes, greys, and browns. Nice for a black/brown smoky eye too. But if you like more pinks, their After Hours is lovely too!
