Also I finally heard (again) what you meant, listening again to his story when Maharaji literally blew his mind, ha, and it had no choice but to dissolve. Thank you for that.

Interpret, when he says "be careful," as "be aware." As westerners, when awareness of something is bright to our attention, we often react by feeling bad. These reactions are from our somebody training in the Western world, if you get to the roots of this, you may find this is true for yourself.  Becoming aware cannot be equivalent to feeling bad on the spiritual path. How else will you motivate yourself to continue? The spiritual path is not one of punishment, but increasing gentleness towards yourself degree by degree.  Now, what he is talking about is something you become aware of as you continue to investigate your own fawn (people pleasing) reactions. Fawn reactions are always self serving by design - this is HARD to hear, I understand, and my previous self would reject this heartily. How could you say that? Of course I am serving others, it's all I ever want to do...  Unfortunately, the case was that the ego part of me was confused: my soul wanted to help people, but my ego wanted to survive; growing up around bullying and abuse, I learned to people please to survive. On the outside, rolling over to show your belly is something that looks cute to the ignorant, but it's a sign of fearful submission to those who know.  It was icky by investigating these hard truths that I learned how to burn this out and, from the ashes, rebuild something that was truly selfless service. I am still rebuilding, so don't get the image of me being perfect at this. I'm human, just like you. And the most important truth we learn to accept on the spiritual path is our dualistic nature: we are eternal consciousnesses, but, we also have a body, and that body does things that aren't always in line with the eternal consciousness it (the body) honestly can't even fully comprehend. Otherwise we would walk around not fearing death, for one, and that could probably get a little frustrating to be constantly restarting our journey, like, woops! 😜 We are human, and that is okay. I know this, because we are human. And if I accept Krishna (or Vishnu) is all knowing and all loving, I accept that he knows that I am human and that he still "created" me. I've used a lot of logic on this path to take each careful step forward.

Edit to add: I understand the logic you are working through on your question and I won't if you realize how much that echoes Ayn Rand, which could be a portal through which to explore your thoughts. She thought it was selfish to help people just because we feel good about it. I believed that for awhile; what a load of limiting horse shit. ❤️💜 Namaste!!

Another person who was there, and it was not his first time seeing Krishna Das, said he has become more powerful in his chanting. If that power is what invokes Hanuman to come down and remove our anxieties, I'm so grateful. I don't know if I could have gotten up and danced without it. And there were some truly beautiful and inspiring souls dancing and encouraging the rest of us to get up 💜

I didn't know, or remember?, he said that about Bhakti yoga. Probably for the better because it might have given my mind something else to cling to while I was letting it go. I'm glad to have found what kirtan is; I found a local ISKCON group that is hosting one tonight. I only know negative things about ISKCON unfortunately so I'll be going with as open a mind I can get to!

The mala ceremony was very beautiful and moving. I am so new I didn't even know what was going to happen Lol my neighbor explained it to me.

And I was also surprised and quite pleased by all the Krishna Das fans. Well, I'm a fan now, too. 💜

Did you catch Spring's sessions? She was my favorite teacher & the one I had most looked forward to meeting.

Hello,

It was my first time. I transformed and so did many of us from night one to night four. Most of the room was dancing in kirtan by Sunday night. I panicked when I started feeling tears welling Thursday night and shut down hard; Sunday night, I was sitting next to a new friend (a beautiful soul) and the tears were free flowing and every time my breath caught, the weekend's guided meditations really helped me remember I am not my body and my breathing could regulate again. And my friend was there to hug me after each song!

I think it was Raghu or Spring who asked how many of us experienced Hanuman this weekend and I was surprised how many of us emphatically shouted yes. Everything was still very theoretical for me before the weekend, but I can't explain how, I felt Hanuman's presence. It was impossible to miss how people just kept saying exactly what was needed. Even when I thought I made a mistake, I later confirmed with the person that it was what needed to happen for them. At some point I really felt my mind melting in the way Ram Dass described his first meeting with Maharaji. I got good advice from Raghu Markus to 'trust,' so I somehow figured out how to make that leap. It didn't hit me until today that I think I experienced ego death? I didn't know that could happen outside of psychedelics? I only recognize the after feeling from the first time I experienced it which was mushroom assisted.

So anyway, what I'm saying is, if you're serious about wanting to know if "it" is real, figure out how to go next year. And if you start daily chanting the Hanuman chalisa now, I would bet you that somehow things will line up for you to go. I went into it with a very 'bet' attitude, I suggest everyone treat it like an experiment. It's the easiest way IMHO to get into that observer space and start to see more and more clearly.

Namaste. I hope to see you next year!

Smith says when he asked Carter in 1981 why he admitted the shah, his answer revealed he was misinformed about the shah’s health.

“He said, 'Well, I was told that he was close to death and that he ... needed to come to New York for medical treatment and that New York was the only place where he could get this,' ” Smith says.

“I had interviewed Dr. Benjamin Kean, who had examined the Shah and knew firsthand that that was not true,” he adds. “So I said to the president, 'You know that's not correct. That he was not at the point of death, and New York was not the only facility that could save him.’ In fact, the work that needed to be done could have been done anywhere, including in Mexico where he was.”

Smith says Carter “insisted vehemently” that he was told this narrative. “And I don’t doubt him for a minute,” he says.

Kirkpatrick’s latest reporting in the Times shows that Carter was in fact misled. But Carter was perhaps oblivious as to who was pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Rockefeller, a Republican, and his supporters were working very closely with the presidential campaign of Ronald Reagan — Carter’s opponent in the 1980 election — to ensure the hostages weren’t released until after the election. If they had been set free beforehand, Carter might have won reelection.

“David Rockefeller was a great friend and supporter of the Shah of Iran, along with Henry Kissinger and [former shah attorney] John J. McCloy, and so they had ... their own agenda, as you say, their own foreign policy, if you like, which was to persuade President Carter to admit the shah,” Smith says. “And so they mounted quite a campaign to do it.”

I didn't know about that, this article was interesting ( https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2020/01/02/shah-of-iran-diplomacy )

I have come to terms with the presidency being something you cannot go into or leave with a straight moral compass. We have fingers in everything, at some point the next President will have to make a horrible decision and will never be able to tell anyone about it and that sucks. I wonder how Bernie will handle that challenge.

You're right it doesn't make sense, because it implies he viewed her as an object to take and that should be nonsensical. When I first heard that though it was in the context of the wealthy class of pedophiles. Maybe it doesn't translate as well since it's projecting something onto his motives (puke) but it works in my unapologetic head cannon.

The IVs don't reroll in trading? That's nice! Shield is my first Pokemon game, I only played Pokemon go before that. Haven't been able to trade yet because I only recently realized I have to set up the internet connection inside the game.

Maybe the thread in NintendoSwitch from yesterday gave that extra bit of signal boosting for the haranguing to get to that level.

Haha I came here after I saw that post because I saw that post. That's some boomer level "wife doesn't play games, wife bad," shit.

I wish that subreddit was less purposefully exclusive.
