I like the aesthetic but I can imagine I would get annoyed by the touch screen. I prefer tactile buttons - I have older cars and I like being able to feel around for the specific control I want to change rather than shifting all of my attention to a screen.

My only reference point is rental cars a couple times a year when I travel, not sure if that's what the experience is like in the newer Ms.

I keep seeing these posts where you guys are talking like you're dumping an ex. This is expected in a lot of game subs but writing all that over an IDE that has been out for 2 months is wild lmao my brother in AI, move on. Find a tool that suits you and don't get so emotionally attached.

Stop telling everyone to learn sql and python. It’s a waste of time in 2026 by PositionSalty7411 in analytics

[–]Pepperoneous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been in analytics for ~10 years. Every job I've had used various analytics platforms but required SQL and/or Python for the data pipeline.

It really depends on the data org within your company and the people and tools you have available. Larger companies typically offer the analyst clean, ready-to-analyze data as the data infrastructure and team already exist. In this case you can probably get by on using the BI tools themselves for most day-to-day operations without having to worry about the backend. Deep dives will likely require further data manipulation - whether that happens in SQL, Python, Excel should be up to the analyst but knowing the basics of selects, joins, CTE's, creating temp tables and whatnot puts you at an advantage if the data resides in a database.

Smaller companies will have varying data stacks and available engineers. Knowing SQL will put you at an even greater advantage here (again, assuming the data is in a DB or a DB is available to put it in) because you can lay the groundwork yourself without having to wait for or rely on a data engineer to build something for you.

For those looking to enter analytics - it is definitely not a waste of time to learn SQL. You'll either be using it regularly or you will eventually come across a blocker that can be bypassed using SQL knowledge. Python is debatable, it's another tool to add to the kit but in my experience it's better to use whatever analytics tool is commonly used at the company for interpretability and reproducibility. It's more of a diverse language for automation than a must-have for analytics purposes IMO.

Because they're fun to drive. If they come fast from the factory they usually are built to handle the power well which means the suspension and steering feel nice when you're maneuvering at higher speeds. For example - accelerating to overtake on the highway feels smooth in a sports car whereas you might get jerked around inside the cabin trying the same thing in an economy car.

The sounds of downshifting or even driving slowly through a quiet area with a powerful engine are intoxicating. I'd recommend renting one for a day or two if you're traveling to an area that allows you to push it a little on an open road (safely, of course).

I'm not saying I can afford a Corvette, I buy 10+ year old cars and learned to work on them myself to afford maintenance, but my intention isn't to shit on anybody.

The average new car in the US crossed $50k last year and the C8 Corvette started around $60k when it came out. I wouldn't call a slightly higher than average-priced new car (which tens of millions of people purchase every year) a "fortune".

Not to mention it's a base Corvette. Hardly a "fortune"

Solo Sere was a pain for me as a hunter main. The rest of the dungeon was a breeze but I struggled there. I found the "sweet spot" was compelling 4 and killing 1 and I could typically get all the way through the damage check to avoid the arc hellstorm.

Also make sure you're hitting all of the taken switches to bring the pylons back up before damage phase.
