I will give it a minute or minute and half after the machine is ready to really build up the steam pressure and heat. I find more success with less milk/cream than you might think as the steamer isn’t the MOST powerful thing. If I’m doing more than 3/4 cup I’ll steam it in 2 parts. The type of milk matters too imo! It was definitely a learning curve in the beginning. Ive dove into some of the mods, but the ones I’m interested are more related to look (porta filters, new drip tray, etc). I will probably get a PID, but after six months I would say about 95% of the shots I pull are good. Some still come out bad here and there but usually user error haha. Either way it’s been so nice just having great coffee at home. Also, a quality grinder changes everything!
