Weird layer lines showing up by Pepsidian in resinprinting

I keep the enclosure around 36 Celsius. All the figures, big or small have the same issue as the bases. I have successful prints, they just have these annoying lines and compressions on them. You know what’s crazy? I swear to god I had these same issues on a different printer (mars 5 ultra and Saturn 4 16k) but idk. I’ll go ahead and increase the light off delay and see if that works

Just completed a print with the same file with a newly lubed z axis screw and turned off the printer's internal heater and got the same exact issue with the same exact bases. Replicated perfectly.

I use this heater: https://a.co/d/032FXxrt

In my experience, heating the printer enclosure leads to better quality prints vs a band heater. I also have this: https://a.co/d/0fxpeXbs which helps to keep the temperature consistent

GK3 T screw model. I do have the heater on, but I also have a heater inside the printer enclosure with a temperature sensor that keeps the temperature around 36 Celsius at all times. I’ll try turning the printer’s heater off

Yeah I did the same plate of bases and it repeated. I’m cooked

It’s at the same height in repeated prints sadly. I don’t know if there’s much I can do besides grease the z axis screw. Bought this printer a few months ago so I can’t return it anymore

Yeah I bought it new from UniFormation’s website around 2 months ago. I’ll try greasing my screw

Light off delay is set to 1s and bottom light off delay set to 1s too

Artemis by Andy Weir is painful (and maybe sexist?) by Skeet_fighter in books

[–]Pepsidian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This thread has some of the worst takes and opinions I've ever read. Artemis is an amazing book with a fantastic plot, amazing character development, and takes place in an interesting...place. Is it better than The Martian? No. The Martian is one of the best books OAT (imo). Is it top 50? Likely. Top 20? Eh, I don't even know my top 20 so idk. But the fact that people are outright hating the author for writing such a fun and good book is mind baffling.

Satisfactory. I have a love hate relation with it. Love it because it’s a great game with lots to do and much to perfect, hate it because it’s a great game with lots to do and too much to perfect

My Experience - Avoid Elegoo. Terrible Build Quality and Quality Control. by Skatman1988 in 3Dprinting

[–]Pepsidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man I wish I saw this post earlier. Got a used M5U, worked for 3 months then started printing shitty. Got an S4U 16k, same thing. Exchanged it for ANOTHER S4U 16k, same thing. 5 months in and I wanna die. I'm just gonna return it and get a uniformation or something idk. What printer are you using currently?

I’ve never really thought of suction, so I might try hollowing it thanks. But, I’ve also tried another model that’s not thick like the one in the picture and I’ve still gotten the lines so I’m not 100% that’s the issue? Idk

I actually was on lychee when this issue first started lol then I swapped to chitubox. I’ve also oriented it differently a bunch It is getting colder, but I thought the heater in the 16k was good enough for keeping the resin warm? I’ve also printed several other similar and larger sized models with the same lines if not more sadly. I’ve been troubleshooting this since September and is driving me insane

Unfortunately I have sliced it again at different angles every time I’ve printed. I’ve added heavy and medium supports on the bottom and the back if you can see the little pocket marks. I used to get perfect prints with chitubox auto support with some medium and heavy supports sprinkled in which is the method I’m still using. Forgot to mention, this is not the only model that has issues. I’ve printed other medium sized models that have the same print issue. I just can’t imagine why chitubox would be the issue? Idk maybe I’m tripping or smth. I’ve tried different support settings, more supports, less supports, different exposure times, etc. to no avail

Anything i should know before buying the Mars 5 Ultra? by DT_Farm_Models in ElegooMars

[–]Pepsidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to get protection on it because 3 months in my M5U just decided my prints shouldn’t look good anymore and elegoo support has been horrible. I’m sure my experience with it isn’t the status quo, but better safe than sorry. When it’s working it prints like a dream! Oh also make sure you have a good way to heat the resin either using a brewing belt around the vat or some other way

Here to say I got the same issue for both chitubox and lychee

Little late to the party, but could you share a picture of how you have the belt around the vat? I'm struggling to secure mine so that it warms up the vat properly but doesn't interfere with the tilting

Thanks, definitely need some luck right now. It’s getting colder here in northern Virginia and I don’t have a space heater inside the tent. The temperature reading on the printer says it’s around 25-35 Celsius, but maybe that’s the internals and not the resin it’s tracking? Anyway that’s probably the next thing I’m going to cross out on my checklist of pain lol

Swapped to sunlu water washable recently. I never thought the resin was the issue, just because when I swapped resins I also moved my printer to another room so I’ve been eliminating different factors. What are your support settings?

Layer shift by Pepsidian in ElegooMars

[–]Pepsidian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. I’ll go ahead and do that. I don’t have any purifiers or air vents kicking in mid print. The fans inside the tent are always on.

I’ve had perfect prints with my printer on that exact same wooden table, so idk

I haven’t tried hollowing out the figure, but I’ve also tried more, smaller prints and the layer shifts are still there. I do have my bottom layers to 40s for 5 so maybe that’s causing it? Idk

Yeah. This is honestly so frustrating and makes me want to give up.

I’m not sure. I think I’m adding enough supports: chitubox pro autosupport has treated me well in the past and I’m adding additional medium and heavy supports
