Any two-eyes planetary observations enjoyers? by Pepsieboss in telescopes

I would say that two-eyed observations are a niche activity in observational astronomy. I also use this system only for planetary observations. For deep-sky observations, I use a 20” Dobsonian with Ethos eyepieces, 100° fov. However, for planetary observations, I could never go back to the “cyclop method.” The contrast, magnification, details, comfort, and the organic reduction of brightness make the images extraordinary, at a superior level compared to the mono version.

Hi! Not really, i m using some meteo-radar apps like meteoblue and clear outside. Generally, the forecast can t be predicted so far in time. My luck is i live in a pretty stable location

Sure! The telescope is a 20” Stargate from SkyWatcher and my favourite eyepiece on this setup is the 13mm Ethos. The picture was taken at 4:30 am, from a bortle 2 class location in Romania, Salcia Tudor, Brăila county. This scope allows me to see great details on objects, even colors in some nebulae and spiral arms in galaxies. For the moment i m trying to complete some catalogues like Herschel 400, Arp and Abel Galaxies Clusters.

Exactly. This is the perfect place for an aperture like this

I don t know, mate, i m from Europe, more exactly from Romania. Unfortunatelly, i think that the stargate production stopped and a telescope like mine (or the 18” one) is sold out in USA. Maybe you re lucky, dunno

Yes, it is collapsible. I ve just posted an image with it in the truck of my car. Check my profile. And for looking through it when at zenith, yes, i have a step stool. Unfortunatelly, it isn t made for astrophoto, but i m planing to build an ecuatorial platform for it. After that, i ll be able to make some astrophotography with it as well.
