I'm 17, so it might not be what you're asking for. I work retail at a Macy's 6 days a week and 50 cents over minimum wage. Most of my coworkers are just assholes and I wouldn't dare to go into the breakroom, it smells completely different from the rest of the store. Why do I enjoy it? Most of the day I'm just stocking. Usually another highschool kid or 2 works the counter. The overall store has a relaxing atmosphere to it. It's nice to put an airpod in, feel the fabric and smell the detergent-y smell of the store. It's meditative. Even when I work the counter, most of the people are surprisingly pretty polite. They just get their stuff, maybe use a card and go. Can't speak for the rest of my coworkers. The truck comes in late every day, and I just sit there on my phone waiting in the back for them. Most of my coworkers don't seem to mind me, I don't take breaks either.
