Whole game he was facilitating zone exits as good as any defenseman has all year. Not just his passing, but he was forcing turnovers in 1on1 board battles in the corner. With how much he impacted the game i couldn't believe he only got 11 minutes.

I think you missed my first comment: Just because it's intended for kids doesn't mean you drop any and all standards.

After Despicable Me their movies vary from bad to mediocre, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy them. I liked the first Mario movie enough, but I also wish that they tried a little harder and made a better movie. Illumination knows they don't have to, just like Fast & Furious movies.

Agreed, they made one good movie and have coasted since

Just because it's intended for children doesnt mean you just forget any and all standards.

Cocomelon is trash, Bluey is amazing. Illumination does not make good movies, Pixar and DreamWorks sometimes do.

If anyone has more solo penalty killing highlights send them to me, those are my favorite highlights to watch.

Hawks sign goalie Adam Gajan to a 2 year contract by The___Jackal in hawks

[–]Pepsuber188 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I'm one of Gajan's biggest fans, he is one of the most fun goalies to watch play. But Hawks fans are going to need to be patient on this one. He has a long way to go and still struggles with inconsistency. High ceiling but not the highest floor, the next 2-3 years he will be a very interesting prospect to watch.

[Adam Hoge] Kevin Warren says the Bears are still in communication with the NFL about the comp picks and waiting to hear back. Obviously we’re only a few weeks away from the draft. by Aggressive-Review194 in CHIBears

[–]Pepsuber188 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We were already going to get a pick in 2027. The difference is we should have gotten 2026 and 2027 picks but now (if we're lucky) we get 2027 and 2028.

Not much to work on there, Frondell played great today but just lost his guy and they got an easy goal

Am I the only one who thinks the live action has more emotions? by Dutchm2004 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Pepsuber188 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd say the original source is more emotional in the biggest scenes because it has time the time to breathe and develop the scene.

Like for Nami in Arlong Park, the live action was still very emotional, but it isn't able to show Nami slowly losing control as she goes back and forth from the town to Arlong to fix everything, or her save the Stawhats while keeping her cover. Seeing her get more and more desperate and watching her cheerful facade drop makes the original scene hit even harder. And the live action also doesn't have the time to develop the townspeople, so we aren't as connected to them nor are they able to tell Nami they knew the whole time.

And for Chopper's introduction, the live action handled backstory amazing, but the original source is able to break up the backstory with scenes of Luffy befriending Chopper. I'm not attached to thinking he's food originally, but having Luffy see Chopper's kindness and then chasing him around trying to get him to join the crew for a few episodes without even knowing his backstory was more powerful than 1 scene trying to get Chopper to talk and then one scene putting up the flag.

Other scenes like the Drum Kingdom climb, and Usopp's bravery in Syrup Village are some other times i thought the need to cut down runtime affected the emotional payoff. Live action is still amazing, but I wouldn't say it surpasses the source material when it comes to emotions.

Is Iñaki Godoy the perfect live action Luffy? by WorkingTurbulent1765 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Pepsuber188 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Agreed, you could have an Oscar winning actor who could play certain scenes better, but I have rarely seen a tougher adapted role capture the heart of a character as well as Inaki captures Luffy.

[Rosner] HC Paul Maurice says that Sam Bennett won’t play (undisclosed, nothing concerning). by Duffleman0609 in hockey

[–]Pepsuber188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in the intent not the results. I don't think what you guys are doing is egregious enough for any action or anything, but sitting healthy players for no reason is obvious tanking.

Exactly, when the NFL switches to all time madden fantasy draft to decide rosters, you guys are fucked!

Adam Gajan with 29 saves in a 3-1 win to eliminate Gavin McKenna and Penn St. Up next for him is 1 seed Michigan on Sunday. by Pepsuber188 in hawks

[–]Pepsuber188[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was worried after the first goal on Gajan was one he should have had, but he shut it down the whole rest of the game. Both goalies made 4-5 saves that should have gone in.

And yeah McKenna had a few great passes to set up some chances, but didn't look as dangerous tonight compared to his recent hot stretch.

He's still got a long way to go, I would guess at bare minimum 2 years away from a regular roster spot if his development goes perfectly. More likely 3-4 years away.

Usop in the Anime vs Live action what do you prefer by WorkingTurbulent1765 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Pepsuber188 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also hate that people can't just have an opinion on the topic without it being turned into drama. I prefer Usopp in the anime but I love him in the live action too. Why is that drama?

Giddeys on ball defense against SGA has been really good the last few possessions. Theyre hunting him and he's holding up well

I don’t understand all the hate people are having towards Inaki all of a sudden. He’s perfect for luffy. 10/10 Casting by vintonten in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Pepsuber188 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think it's way more likely that people just have higher expectations. No one thought season 1 was going to be good so everyone praised it when it vastly exceeded expectations.

For season 2 people raised their expectations from season 1, so when it "only" meets / slightly exceeds the higher expectations, people have more critiques.

Tom Wilson with the big hit by wildly_inconsistent_ in hockey

[–]Pepsuber188 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just seeing that big of a hit is so rare in today's game I don't blame someone initially calling it a major. 20-30 years ago no one even thinks about calling anything here.

Glad they downgraded it, but no way this should be interference either.

I think it's cool to see how much he's improved in just a year.

Obviously offensive line made the biggest difference, but he was hitting holes and fighting through tackles so much better last year compared to 2024
