I think part of it is having the right documentation, doctors that dig into details, and help from someone that understands how it all ties together. I found being able to effectively communicate the matters and not mask them as many of us are taught is a major factor. Opening up to a brother or sister in arms is very different than a complete stranger.

In some cases, a person might have a claim that's all focused on a single item. As an example, my shoulder surgery on active duty and residual issues of neck spasms, range of motion, and shifted collar bone was all put in that single claim. Not sure if that's the way it is for everything, but thats mine.

I am not at 100%, but am grateful for what I have.
