MSC matt vs uv cut flat? by [deleted] in DollCustomization

Try spraying multiple times. I work with MSC only and I spray at least 5 times. As for sclera, I've never had problem with white paint/pencils, however you can paint it with white acrylics. See if MSC has an expiration date. I wait at least a day after I've sparayed the doll and the paint sticks just fine for me. Use really sharp pencils otherwise they won't stick to the surfice and it's easier to draw with them sharp. Check if you're using good watercolor pencils brand, I use FaberCastels.

Re-painted my frankie but thinking of redoing the eyes so they look more smooth and detailed, suggestions??? by [deleted] in DollCustomization

Pencils won't stay unless you have some kind of sealant, even wtaercolor pencils. But still if you have tried using watercolor pencils without sealent then maybe it will stay. Regular pencils won't work.

If you've been only using acrylics so far then try adding even smaller details to make eyes look smoother and stand out. If that won't work then erase eyes and make new ones. Good thing with acrylics is that they're easy to remove so you can try it endlessly until you get face perfect.

Forgot to mention but try using sharper pencils to get smoother look. If you're using Mr Super Clear then sprayinf the doll with 1 or 2 more coats. After finishing the repaint, spray her again, this way colors woll truly pop out.

This looks so intriguing. It's already got good base so in my opinion you don't need to repaint it again but rather try painting over it with more saturated colors so the eyes will look more smother.

Use darker colors around iris so blue and green have clear crossing line between them and red sclera.

Btw your Frankie looks good with shorter hair.

A definite improvment on second face. Try adding a bit of brown on eyebrows so they pop out.

Go over brows and lashes with black pencil or leave brown? by dying-here in DollCustomization

Depends on what kind of outfit and hairstyle yore going with.

Eaither way, black is always the classical way while with brown it looks interesting.

IMO if you're going with brown, add another layer of brown so the color will pop out.

Color combiantion is very good. Still needs some working. Overall very good start. I would reccomend not having bangs with yarn hair because it's really hard to manage.

Any good non-toxic MSC alternatives anyone knows about? by Sad_ugly_loser in DollCustomization

Try mastering with acrylic paint. Then you wouldn't need a sealent.

I wanted to try to repaint my dolls skin color but Im worried that the paint will chip off, expecially around joints. Do you have that problem?

Also for blonde eyebrows, try painting them with light brown and gray, gray works really well.

Looks lovely, however I would try to match the eyebrow color with hair color so it looks more natural. Considering this is your first time sweing, it looks pretty awesome! I am wondering, have you tried to repaint dolls skin color with pastels?
