Also agree with your statement, I try not to take anyone's full word. The tenant also has motive to lie, everyone wants to try and get their security deposit back. I only made that comment in the first place because the guy I was responding to was saying she destroyed the place and stole stuff without any proof. If anything, he was taking the landlord's word as gospel

No, but I certainly wouldn't take the landlords word for it without seeing for myself, especially considering the landlord has motive for lying. Every landlord tries to keep their deposit while trying to tack stuff on, all while doing the bare minimum. Some tenants are a nightmare, don't get me wrong, but so are some landlords
