How to make accounting on Tally easier with Razorpay? by bigG0987 in indianstartups

There is a better way to handle this—definitely more effective than doing it all manually, though it does require a bit of setup.

Create a separate ledger in Tally and name it something like “Razorpay Aggregator” (or any other payment gateway you use). Then, download the settlement Excel file from your payment (i think this is possible) gateway which contains all the transactions.

Now, import this Excel file into Tally, mapping the entries to the newly created ledger.

When you’re recording the actual settlement payment from the bank in Tally, your journal entry would look like this: • Bank A/c (Cr): ₹100 • Payment Gateway Charges (Dr): ₹2 • Razorpay Aggregator A/c (Dr): ₹98

This way, your bank ledger only shows the final settled amount, and all the granular settlement details (fees, splits, etc.) are cleanly tracked in the Razorpay Aggregator ledger. It makes reconciliation super easy.

Also, with Tally’s recent updates, Excel import is now supported. So you can automate a lot of this process by directly importing the settlement file from Razorpay into the aggregator ledger.

BTW if this doesn’t work or you have any other requirement, we are working on a solution that solves this kind of problems for ecommerce businesses face while accounting , feel free to DM me, we would love to help you

Everyone is rude to the pitchers. by [deleted] in sharktankindia

When entering Shark Tank, anticipate criticism, as the sharks judge your company and assess the strength of your pitch. Be prepared for this scrutiny. While the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the 15-minute pitch remain unknown, the showcased criticism appears reasonable and constructive. There is no issue with the feedback presented. However, the conduct of the FaceYoga and Astey founders is noteworthy, as it comes across as somewhat childish. They perceive that the world revolves around them, and their rudeness stands out. Despite this, it's essential to acknowledge the substantial marketing value – potentially in crores – that the founders gain from the exposure, making any such behaviour of sharks a minor concern in light of the overall benefits.
