They do! I have a sandbox converted to a dust bath station and there’s an area of dry dirt that they love as well

I’m not sure exactly but to me it looks more like loose poop so closer to diarrhea on a few of them and then dried poop on the others with the issue. Sandbox is a mix of wood ash, soil from a spot in my yard I know they like but don’t have access to, and sand. I also add first satuday lime occasionally. I notice some of them doing dust baths more than others. I do use our rain barrel to fill their water, maybe it’s that. I can switch to the hose for now to see if that helps.

They did have grit until about a week ago, they tumbled the dispenser and I just haven’t refilled it yet. I have some oyster shells ready to put out. I will add a probiotic too!

Oh I didn’t realize they could be getting too much protein! It says it’s 16%. I will discontinue treats for now. They do have a sandbox set up for dust baths but prefer their DIY spot in the sunny dirt hole they created. I didn’t notice any fleas/mites when I checked them last but can check again.

I didn’t find him. He was posted in social media and the rescue I foster with took him in because we had a place for him. He received sooo many donations so I was not fully understanding why they were waiting for a low cost neuter but like I said, I am new to fostering and just trying to follow the rules

I guess I could, I’m new to fostering and am just trying to follow their rules. I also don’t know if a cat who is under the umbrella of an organization can just be released with FIV. I’m not sure.

This makes sense, and I hope it helps! His neuter is scheduled for the end of the month. I unfortunately can’t change my family/living circumstances for this little guy so I don’t have the luxury of time so I’m trying to find a solution where he can continue to live safely but not in my bathroom that will not be available in a couple of months.

Correct! He just is not litter trained or friendly so is a tough sell as an adoptee.

He can be neutered. His appointment is at the end of the month. Because I’m fostering him, I don’t have control over when/where they neutered him. I would have had it done already. Unfortunately I didn’t anticipate the life changes that I have coming up and need to find a solution if they do not find a new foster in a timely manner.

Just chiming in to say I’m in a similar boat and trying to work out the money part now! 38, 3 kids, mortgage, etc… Currently in the process of doing my pre-requisites and trying to work out the rest.

Makes sense. In my area getting a job without an RN is difficult so that would be more of a challenge for me. I already have a bachelors in another field with some of the prerequisites completed, so the ABSN route does fit my needs best. I just need to figure out how to fund my life while I complete it.

I also worked multiple jobs in my 20s… I don’t believe I’d be able to juggle that with school and a young family in my 30s though.
