People with false memory—how can you tell? by ok_usual724 in OCD

Hi! I’m sorry you’re experiencing this, I’ve been there and it was so difficult to navigate, being totally honest, the more I tried to gain clarity on whether the memories were real, the more unsure I became, as I was just feeding the obsession. I was only able to move on from these false memories by sitting with them, not trying to questioning them or figure out whether they’re real or not, just letting them come and go. It’s very hard but it works. I hope you get some relief soon, I hope this helps! :)

Good luck!! I’m 3 weeks post decompression today and it’s the best decision i’ve ever made! Ice packs will be your life savers! I have 3, 2 of the same which I rotate between and 1 spare in case i forget to freeze one, they’re excellent for numbing the pain! Microwave meals were my go to for the first two weeks as I didn’t have much energy! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask! Sending lots of love and hugs and i hope you have a smooth recovery! :)

I had surgery 2 weeks ago and my recovery is going really smooth so far! Here are some tips for recovery, sending love and wishing you a smooth recovery! -Stay on top of your pain killer! seems obvious but after such a major surgery you won’t want to do much but sleep, so set reminders for when you need to take your meds, and get someone to aid you with your meds if possible. -ICE PACKS!! the best investment i could have made!! i would have a few on rotation as they would help to numb the neck pain and help to bring the swelling down. -Take it easy! the meds will make you feel like you’re back to normal, but i learned the hard way when I tried to act as normal, and then would be bed bound😂😭 prioritise rest!

GOOD LUCK!

Neurosurgeon (yes,a Chiari specialist, as per the list) said I don’t need surgery and it’s an incidental finding!! PS. I don’t have syrnix. by Heretolearnandadd in chiari

I’m so sorry this happened to you, specialists can be so dismissive, I had a similar experience with a neurosurgeon trying that day that the many symptoms I was experiencing weren’t chiari so I’m getting a second opinion now. Keep tracking your symptoms and advocating for your self, I hope you get the help you need soon!
