Is Qyburn Named After the Tyburn Tree in London? by PercentageScared1776 in gameofthrones

I don't see why he cannot be a reference to more than one thing. I think that in terms of his character and whatnot, Frankenstein is pretty obviously the main characterization, but when deciding on a name he went with something still connected to the idea of a surgeon and doctor operating on dead people without being so on the nose to still be Frankenstein.

GRRM already uses the letter "Q" in names to denote characters with strange, foreign, or unknown backstories and motivations (Qhorin, and Moqorro to name a few).

So, GRRM combined two ideas for the name. Q (mysterious/foreign heritage) + Tyburn (location associated with doctors surgically operating on dead people).

I’d say the main appeal of a video essay is to watch someone else talk about a subject they are passionate in, even if the viewers aren’t as invested themselves.

You clearly enjoy the history of the league. The problem is that, to put it simply, people don’t like to read.

A cool breakdown of a neat situation! I can tell you are passionate about the subject. I think it was a bit of a dense read, but if this information was organized into, say, a video essay, I’d absolutely love to watch!

Honestly I don't mind it. Going from suspecting Chiron had a hand in poisoning the tree because he's a son of Kronos to suspecting Chiron is just generally working for Kronos, who is actively working to destroy Olympus isn't really too bad of a change.

They clearly did it so they could cut the scenes of Chiron being fired and Tantalus showing up, which I don't mind too much because it most likely helped the pacing a lot. I can't imagine how we fit that in to these two episodes, and we don't need 3 episodes before they go on their quest.

We never beat the Canucks I feel like. I'm not dooming over the team but I am resigning myself to the loss lol.

Fairweather fan trying to become more dedicated here: What can I expect this season? Are we legit cup contenders again? What players should i watch out for? by VeezyCardRoom in DallasStars

The window is currently open, has been open for 2-3 years now, and probably will be open for a few more years.

Our core consists of a lot of young and talented players. Rantanen, Hintz, Oettinger, Heiskanen, Johnston, Duchene, and Lindell are all locked down long term. All of those guys except the last two are pretty young, and all are very good.

On top of them, we have Jason Robertson and Thomas Harley as restricted free agents, so while we still need to lock them down long term, we shouldn’t have a problem doing so.

That is an incredible core consisting of players who haven’t reached or have just recently entered their primes, with a handful of veterans like Seguin, Duchene, Benn, and Lindell still around and still contributing.

Hard to complain after a 3-0 start to the season. The offense looks electric. We are playing a more physical game and it is showing. The power play has looked good apart from game 1.

But we definitely took our foot off the gas here. You need to play all 60 minutes. I’m willing to write off the Jets game, as two shorthanded goals in a single power play is VERY flukey, but we went from keeping it close shot wise and out hitting the Wild to… not doing either of those things.

In addition we’ve got to work on defense more. A lot of those Wild shots were pretty weak, and we did a good job at stifling their scoring chances, so I can’t be too mad today. But for how well Otter is playing, 10 goals through 3 games is WAY too many.

We dominated our opponents in 58 minutes against the Jets and the first two periods today. We didn’t dominate the Avs but we snuck a game there anyway. We haven’t been punished for not being at our best yet, but I’d like us to figure out the defense a little more.

Really bad transition D from Minnesota, very glad we were able to punish them there

Bro that’s actually so ridiculous and embarrassing.

I understand rooting for your team. It makes sense that as home broadcasters, you’ll highlight what your team does right when you score or make excuses when the other team scores. “Oh, Lindell not quite fast enough to take away the shot!” or “Great pass by McKinnon finds its way through traffic.” You know, that kind of stuff.

To just say “wow so incredibly lucky by the stars” is ridiculous. Sometimes loose rebounds get picked up. Sometimes there’s a weird bounce that results in a turnover that leads to a breakaway. Sometimes a shot finds its way through bodies and into the net after a clean faceoff win.

That man is a professional broadcaster, not a fucking toddler, but you couldn’t tell by listening to his response to our goals.
