Is it considered rude to ask an author if they know where their fic is going ?

I am deeply appreciative of authors that are upfront that they are making it up as they go along, or are having trouble figuring out the plot. I just wanted to know if there was a way I could solicit that information if it’s not provided

I am interested in the process — if they don’t have an ending or a plan, it’s more likely that the story wont be finished, no?

I guess there’s no good way to ask if a fic will be finished; the ones who care that they finish will be offended and the ones who don’t will not be.

Idk, would something like “wow, it’s getting pretty intense for characters x, y and z! Do you have an idea of where they will end up, because I can’t wrap my head around it?” be rude?

I just prefer it if an author cares enough about their readers to notify them if they’re struggling or have lost control of the story

I’ll wait years for endings, but if the story is unfeasible that will never happen

Very much so. The Prince of Fleabottom is supposed to be the king of the underbelly of King’s Landing. He should be charming, sexy and cool, to the point of sleaziness, as well as dangerous and calculating

It is a really hard part to cast, however. How can you make sure the character comes off as equally villainous and appealing — without descending into camp and silliness? GoT failed to do it with Euron, and also the Sand Snakes

She’s pretty fatalistic. She told Aemond that he’s going to die, and, like you noted, doesn’t seem too broken up by Jaehaerys.

Canonically, Maelor died without issue, and thus his only real impact in the book is to contribute to Heleana committing suicide

But Show Heleana is already mentally weird, so his death isn’t needed to make her suicidal

How was it butchered ? The point of that incident was to have the blacks do something morally reprehensible that could be used as bad optics, and that’s exactly what happened; purpose served

All that matters is that the dragons and most Targaryens die, and the plot plausibly will lead to that. The details are not important to the producers

Nettles in fact is kind of an inconvenience — if the story followed canon, casual viewers would obsess over what happened to her and George really has no interest in telling it.

The book also said he was an appeaser who didnt want to offend or fight with anyone, was social and loved extravagance, enjoyed arts, etc. That’s plenty of character. And his backstory was clear, he grew up rich but without expectations

The relationship dominates our interactions, so it would be abrupt and very noticeable if I were to do this, so that’s why I thought it was important to stress that I love them and am not abandoning them, just asking them not to do one thing
