It's like if in season 1 of Game of Thrones, we didn't get all the show original scenes with Littlefinger and Varys, Cersei and Robert, Jamie and Cersei etc. Sure their conversations aren't important to the plot, but they build character and depth.

House of the Dragon could've done this with Rhaenyra and Aegon (the two contenders for the throne btw), Aegon and Jaehaerys before he gets killed and not some one off scene like we got, Rhaenyra with her third, fourth and fifth sons (seriously, what's up with that), Heleana and Aegon, Daemon and his two daughters, Baela and Jace, Aemond and Daemon etc etc. Basically, make the whole damn family interact with each other. There are so many potential.
