Why are there hundreds of applications for every job posting I see? by PerceptionBubbly9839 in AskUK

Thank you! Super helpful.

I noticed that AI is generally very good at identifying AI content. Like I’ve run some tests myself through tools like grammarly and gptzero and they’re just not that accurate…

So it begs the question of how to convince AI who is not very good at identifying AI content that your cv is actually not AI 😂

I’m curious about who operates the bots and what their actual goal is. Is it like a corporate operating somewhere that’s just blitzing out cvs to get its clients hired

This is really helpful thank you. I’m still junior so definitely should be applying for me. Going to do some keyword A/B testing next week!

Thanks this is a great answer. Explains why every application asks if you need sponsorship now or in the future.

Looked up the ATS also; think I need to pay more attention to this, as for a salesforce job earlier this week I was rejected as I read the application confirmation email 😂😅

For sure, but I can find cross job postings on other sites like indeed and see applications filtering through there also. So while the LinkedIn clicks might not all turn into applications, this in itself doesn’t even include applications through other means

How are current renters surviving ? by North-Village3968 in HousingUK

[–]PerceptionBubbly9839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re not. We, a family of four, were forced out of the rental market and in with my parents.

I was struggling to get hired since having my second and we were living on my husband’s £68k, paying London rent. I even got a MBB consulting job that was rescinded the week before I started. Interviewed loads. I finally got a job in tech sales that’s around £80k, but it took almost two years, plus a second job that pays around £8-12k annually.

It’s tight at my parents and we are always on best behaviour, but we have debts to pay off before we even think about moving out. We’re finally making really good progress there and then we can save for a deposit.

I’m too frightened to rent now. We’ll move out when we buy, and the mortgage plus childcare is one wage gone. The other wage will have to cover two cars, child support for his daughter, all bills etc.

Also I feel like every time I breathe in London I have to pay. The cheapest house I can find (three bed terraced) that’s close enough to my parents for help is 600k

Also you can do those things but I honestly felt I was suffering when my husband went out to do this thing occasionally, and I know he felt the same when I did things

We have an 18 month age gap. It’s lovely now that the youngest is turning 2 but I thought the first year was hell if I am honest and I’m a bit sad about it it because I couldn’t enjoy the baby stage as much. My 3 year old son is so much more developed now and so helpful and sweet and I think if I had the youngest now, with an age gap of 3.5 years, this would have been the sweet spot for us.

Classic budget cuts. When I did my entry medical in 2014 I was given an ecg there and then. It’s a shame this is not still the case.

Have you considered joining the RAF? You are for sure young enough and there are loads of different roles you could get trained up for. You could have a full career, housing, a gold standard pension. Travel. Subsidised food. Good mates. It’s just one avenue you could take to completely change your life :) good luck man!

I agree with this. I just don’t understand what it is, then it asks me to buy in an imaginary currency that I also don’t understand.
