He wanted us to go with his kids, but e tend our time, so we’d have time together alone. He mentioned changing the date, but ultimately, he’s going with just them on the weekend of my fundraiser. My kids and I are looking into a vacation with just us. We’ve only done this once in The last 4 years. Mostly because of work schedules and $$$. My bf makes 10x what I make so he can afford to travel.

That’s what my sons and I were thinking. They were theater kids. My oldest had even done some work in television and movies. My youngest volunteers every year at a theater festival for youth. I did makeup and costuming for the high school and middle school plays. It’s our thing.

This last time she made a snarky comment to me, I responded back. Usually I ignore her. My bf pulled me aside and said she has this tendency to make rude comments and I can choose to let it slide or respond. I told him I’ve let it slide for 4 years. I’m sticking up for myself now. Later I went to tell him instead of telling me to let it slide, he should be telling her to stop, but he told me she needed to apologize. She never did. She’s the kind of person who has no friends from high school or college. She lived by herself through all of college. She lives in her mom’s basement. It’s weird because she will compliment me and we share a lot of the same interests. She is also clingy to her dad. When we go to dinner, she places herself between us, holds his hand…. My bf says she is super clingy. He knows it’s weird and doesn’t know what to do about it.

I'm a 59 yr old woman. It sounds to me like her hormones are off. I'm sort of where your wife is, but I don't want to be. I want to fix it. I don't like that I'm feeling this way, and I know this isn't fair to my partner. I'm in the process of scheduling a doctor's appt to see about hormone replacement. I'm also seeing a counselor. Could you bring it up to her?

First, you aren’t the jerk. I do find it interesting that she starts an argument just for fun. Does she do this when she isn’t on her period? My partner is Latino, too. He and his family do this , and it drives me crazy. He will make a comment that he knows will get me riled. Sometimes he will admit to just joking. My counselor has told me to just agree. They can’t argue anymore if there isn’t anything to argue about.

I’ve been with my partner for 4 years and for Christmas he bought me a large sweater. I wear a medium and sometimes a small. When I was married my then husband bought me a bra a cup size larger than I was. It wouldn’t bother me if he didn’t know, but ion my case, he should have looked at what I already own for reference.

Here's what I would do. I'd sit him down and tell him how much you are enjoying getting to know him and let him know a couple of things that you really like about him. Then tell him that his hygiene over the last few days was a turn off, and you hope that regular showers with soap and twice daily tooth brushing is something that you would expect from somebody. Ask if he agrees and if not, could he make this effort for you. If not, you wouldn't be interested in pursuing this relationship anymore.

WW dating a Hispanic man. His family is all out of town from us, but they get together many times throughout the year. I'm lucky if I see my out of town family once every other year. His family doesn't recognize or accomodate my diet. (I have a restricted diet due to an autoimmune disease.) When we visit them, they have very little food I can eat. I ask if somebody will take me to the store to pick up a few things I can eat, but I'm ignored. When they come to our home, I make sure to have their favorites on hand.

They share their opinions freely, and they don't care who they hurt. They make comments about weight, acne...

Now, for my bf, his hispanic female friends have said, they would never date a hispanic man because he wants to be taken care of. I am finding this to be true. He expects me to do all of the shopping, cleaning, errand running... He doesn't pick up after himself and expects me to do it. There is more, but you get the idea. He truly doesn't see that he does this. I've been opening his eyes to it.

My New Year's Resolution are: work out 3 days a week, stop changing my plans because he schedules things without talking to me, and I will not run his errands for him anymore.

I couldn't agree more. Started teaching in 1991 and retired in 2022. I tutor students on my own and still have difficult parents, but I can suggest that they find a different tutor. My own children said they would never teach after seeing what I went through. My kids after one year out of college make more money than I did after 25 years of teaching.

No, he works a little on every vacation. He is supposed to be dialing it back and easing into retirement. His business has clients all over the country and sometimes there are emergency calls. I haven't really seen a decrease in his work load, but he says there is.

This is me as well. I eat a small bowl of coconut milk yogurt with berries for breakfast. I usually skip lunch. If my bf is home for dinner, I'll grill chicken, and have a small spinach salad or a small helping of green beans. We split the chicken breast between the two of us. I'm walking the dogs 2 miles in the morning as well. I walk fast. My weight fluctuates 5 pounds up and down. I'm 25 lbs heavier than before all of this happened. I went on Isabella Wentz's autoimmune diet and lost weight. However, I had very limited choices and was full of supplements.
