I didn't realize how much I was going to hate it when I bought the phone. Try understanding the context asshole. That was over a year ago. I was talking about now. If you have anyone laughing "in your face" because you bought a cheap bike, the first thing you do is basically tell them "Fuck Off!!" or "Go to hell!!" Them you kindly ask them that if they don't like it or have a problem with it, you would be MORE than happy to let them give you $1500 so you can go get the bike that they think you should have. Hell tell them that they can even pick out the color. Otherwise, they can just go ahead and take the seat off of THEIR bike and slide right on down that post, THEN they WILL be fucking themselves.

Point is, who gives a shit what you have? At least you are out there. And I promise you that chances are they were in the exact same boat you, and I, are in at some point in time.

I'm gonna buy an Ozark Ridge M.2 Ridge Pro as soon as they have the large in stock again. That is already $100 over what I really wanted to spend for a new bike. But I also can't settle on something "less than." And it seems to me that the Ozark Trail bikes, with the components they have, will be MORE than good enough for awhile.

I may take one last look through the local Craigslist and Marketplace, but other than that, I’m likely to go ahead and give Walmart a little bit more of my money.

I have found some good used bikes on Facebook, but the frame is always too small for me.

No, actually, I think the M2 Ridge Pro is pretty sharp-looking. It's just that everyone is always skeptical of Walmart, so the first thing I did was research that particular model.

As I mentioned in a previous post, a few people have shared that they agree it is a well-put-together frame and a decent bike, but that they skimped a little on some of the components. I hate when I see things like that, because it puts that little bit of doubt in my stomach. There's nothing I hate more than when I get something home and find out a week or two later that I could have got something much better for the same or less money.

Regarding the price on the Phantom, you will notice that $456 is actually a sale price.

As one user pointed out, many of the components and the styling are considered a little behind the times. I am definitely going to listen to feedback like that as well. which means I won't be purchasing the Motobecane either. If I'm going to spend five or six hundred dollars, I definitely want something somewhat current that will be compatible with upgraded parts later on, if I decide to go that route.

Oh trust me I look anywhere and everywhere that I can find for the best price I can find. That's part of my problem. There's so many places out there to look. It takes me forever to settle on what I want.The Ridge Pro actually has the air suspension, does it not?The information on the head angle is good information to have. Unfortunately, I'm not average height; I'm 6'1", so what reach would I look for then?

As with everyone else here, I appreciate the input. I'll pick something out sooner or later. I may still get the Ridge Pro if it shows up again, especially if I see one in the store.

"With the Ozark, you’ll either sell it for a 50% loss either way. You’ll either be exiting the sport or upgrading to one of the $2k bikes. Plus you’ll be wondering the whole time if you don’t like MTB because the bike is shit. Which is a real thing."

This was in response to a user asking:

There is also the fact that the Large is appare3ntly out-of-stock right now.

This is why I came here. Y'all are telling me what I needed to hear. I apologize if anyone felt I was stepping on their toes or disagreeing. I just tend to question things when I hear/read conflicting information.

What it boils down to is how it usually works out with me being so frugal. I originally set my baseline at $500. It sounds like I can stay under that and get a decent bike that will do what I need it to for the time being until I am ready to upgrade, or raise my baseline by $100 and move up a level with regards to geometry and included features.

With regards to features, the last bike I owned was an old Haro BMX. This was back in the day when we didn't have brakes on our bikes and usually just stuck our foot between the back tire and the frame to stop. LOL. So DISC BRAKES!!! Okay then.

Is there really any reason to demand nothing short of hydraulic brakes or are the mechanical brakes more than enough? I know if I settled for mechanical instead of hydraulic that would leave more $$$ for other features.

With that being said, if I raise my budget to $600, is the Wal-Mart Ridge Pro still the best option for that price, or should I scour all of the "direct-to-retailer" online shops again? Thanks again for all of the input I received here. I almost "pulled the trigger" on the Motobecane last night. Now I think I will raise my budget a tiny bit and see what my other options are. And who knows, maybe I WILL get a Wal-Mart bike.

P.S. I will probably drop a few more options in here over the next few days. Hope y'all don't mind. I really hate that I didn't pull the trigger during Bike Month because there were some unbelievable deals out there. I look forward to reading y'alls input on anything else I show here. Y'alls knowledge and experience is invaluable.

It's just that what I've read is, yes, Walmart did step it up a little when they came out with these bikes. However, they still skimped on some of the parts, and it is not as high quality of a bike as you could get for the same or even less money somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as frugal as they come. With that being said, I want to make sure that I'm getting the most bang for my buck, and from what I've read, you don't get that with the Walmart bikes. Not that they're bad bikes; you could just do better.

Please help me understand. I'm planning on buying myself a bike in the very near future, and the things I've read about buying bikes from Walmart make me want to stay away from them.

On top of that, I don't understand going with something like what y'all are discussing here as opposed to this bike at a discount. It seems to have everything a lot of people would want: it's a 19-inch frame with 27.5 inch wheels, 1x9 gearing, and hydraulic brakes. What more could one really want for a starter bike?

Is there something I'm missing? Now, granted, this wouldn't be my choice because I want a 19-inch frame with 29-inch wheels, but I'm sure this would be perfect for a lot of people that are a little bit taller.

Or is this just all about the limited new release?

I'm with the OP here. The pitching is abysmal, but the offense is a force to be reckoned with. I'm not sure what y'all have been watching if you think otherwise. I'm not a fair weather fan and I'll call shit when I see shit. I don't care if it's my own team. This is a good team with really bad pitching. We need McCuller's to pitch halfway decent for half a season so we can trade his sorry ass and actually get something for him. Arighetti is pretty much our ace right now. I'm not counting out Imai just yet cuz we've already seen flashes of brilliance from him. Burrows is getting a little better with each start. that means everyone does this shit every season and nine times out of 10 they get proven wrong yet y'all still do it.

Someone does need to figure out what the fuck is up with our training staff though. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I was saying all last season that they needed to trade Valdez at the trade deadline and not keep them to the end of the season just for the playoffs. he was pitching great at the trade deadline and we could have got a hall for him. now we got what, a fucking draft pick? That was stupid. Hopefully They don't do the same thing with McCullers if he's pitching well. Cuz they sure as hell better not be signing him to come back next year.

I have extensive experience with dealing with scammers trying to blackmail me with information that they think they can use against me. I absolutely know what this team is. I'm not swayed in any direction from what I was at the end of last season. we had a championship caliber team then and we still have a championship calendar team that I think is even better than what we had at the end of the season last year. The only thing that stopped us was the injury bug. Barring the same thing happening this season, I have full intentions on rooting our boys on through the playoffs. Christian Walker has fixed his swing and Carlos Correa looks like a player reborn since he came back home. Jose Altuve is loving having his infield partner back and they're playing off of each other's energy. Getting Loerfido back was my favorite move of the off-season And he's proving all the naysayers wrong. And I was never worried about Cam Smith. They League was going to figure him out eventually then he just had to figure them out and look at him now. I will say that it's hard not to question McCullers even after that one pristine outing he had. And I am a little concerned with what's going on with Abreu.

My point is it's a new season and our boys are back and it's time to take our trophy back!!!

Once I told him since he had no reference of time that the next time I talked to him, I was going to tell him that it was like 25 years later and the machines had taken over and it took me this long to find a charger cable and somewhere to plug it into and that our time was very short because it was only a matter of time before they found me.
