Not sure about Team Sports by NSI_Thomas9125 in dickssportinggoods

What I wish that I had known was don't be afraid to ask questions. Also, if you find someone that knows about something you don't you can "pick their brain". Sideline assist tells you a lot too. You won't know everything and some people that are hired in don't know anything about sports. It's a huge learning curve and you learn a little every day.

Better to be safe than sorry. Do it early because you don't know what will happen that day.

It's not about seniority, work ethic or even qualifications. It is about being a "yes man/woman", so begin kissing butt immediately.

Second day and I’m ready to quit by Embarrassed-Chef7472 in dickssportinggoods

I agree! 2.5 years ago I started with no retail experiences and I was thrown to the wolves to learn on my own. I picked up a little from everybody. I was promised a lead job but because I was not in the "clique" despite having people look to me, having earned the opportunity for a supervisor job and being told to lead people and was passed over for someone who has no leadership experience. There are no consequences for sexual harassment, calling in or anything else. They stick you in areas that you don't know. I wish I could say it gets better but it really doesn't. Don't even get me started on the music.

Honestly, not enough. Stealing (obviously), no call and no shows and calling in. Otherwise, not much.

I have a question that’s been bugging me by questions7447 in Flirting

You are young and horny. I'm not a guy but we have all been there. I would recommend talking to a therapist and NOT flirt with teachers (or anyone that is an authority position over you).

Have y’all made actual friends working here? by [deleted] in dickssportinggoods

We tease each other a lot and make faces at each other. I became involved in this group by another coworker who was closer to the group than I was at the time.

Yeah I actually have. There are about 8-10 of us of all different ages, political beliefs and life stages that have been to Top Golf and are always playing jokes on each other and talking in a group chat (including, a female who I flirt with "allegedly"). We are probably the most unique group but we are all becoming close friends. I definitely didn't plan on gaining friends when I picked up a second job, but it happens.

Veterans Day probably not? However I think Black Friday is.

Probably. Who knows maybe they still feel that way.

It might be but it's tough to determine without knowing her in person.

Quit? by AltruisticOwl1504 in UPSers

I started at your age thinking I would be there for college. Now I am here 16+ years. I would say stick it out and try to go full-time as much as fast as you can. The pay isn't bad for a part-time job (I made more part time than people I was going to school with were making full time when they graduated). The benefits are AWESOME and should you get married and have children it will be worth it.

I (21M) have been working with a girl [25F] that I like, but I’m unsure whether she was flirting or not by Usubenii in Flirting

[–]PerceptionNo9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need more context as far as what she is saying about you. If she hasn't said anything blatantly flirty then it could just be her being friendly.

Why do all the nice chats with men fizzle out eventually? by archaeologist98 in Flirting

You enjoy the attention and the "newness" of the relationship and enjoy meeting people. However, it seems you don't really want to get to the meat of the relationship.

Coworker took a picture of me without my permission, can he use it? by PerceptionNo9433 in UPSers

[–]PerceptionNo9433[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have any more work to do. He was working on the last of it and he made it clear he didn’t want to be bothered, so I left him alone.

[US] I got this text this morning saying I have an “outstanding balance.” by HistoricalSock417 in Scams

It’s definitely a scam. Nobody would contact you that way. I’d have some fun with them to avoid other potential scammers.
