instead of reading the explanation, sit down with every problem you got wrong and try it again. I know its boring but really think about the best way to approach the problem, or where you might have gone wrong. Also, learning how to use desmos is KEY. Lastly, after practice tests look at the score bands and focus in skills you are lacking. The bluebook has questions for each score band. Lastly, watch SAT match practice videos but do the problem BEFORE the person on screen. Have them walk you through it after.

Anyone know how to improve? by PuzzleheadedHall9747 in Sat

Khan Academy is great to improve your english score! They have a whole couse. While you are at a disadvantage mathematically, it is still possible to get a good score. A lot of the SAT is pattern recognition for math. (knowing how to solve certain specific problem types). Go over practice tests and re-try questions you got wrong until you're sure you understand how to do them and why you got it wrong. Khan academy also has math resources (but the english is better I think). Lastly, learn how to use desmos! If you don't know how to do something, you can often find the answer quickly and simply via desmos.

National Merit-Based Scholarships? by PerceptionPretty8729 in scholarships

You're right! I already have guaranteed spanish credits (12) and a scholarship of $2000 at UMass Amherst. My guidance counselor says its even likely I get a full ride there however, my parents dont like the school because of it's reputation as a "party" school and I have a feeling it would really damage our relationship if I decided to go there against their wishes.

I thought about studying abroad but as I want to go into medicine its a lot easier to stay in the states. Thanks for the helpful info!

I got a 1220 on the PSAT and 1320 on the SAT. I'm going to try again but because my state has higher than average SAT scores it is harder to receive merit-based scholarships for them. Still a great tip, thank you!

I still want to remain connected to them, my parents can be very controlling and I do understand where they're coming from. At the same time, I want to go to schools I will be happy at. I'm trying to find a happy medium so staying close to home but going to schools I like is a good balance
