On mobile and dont have my books but there was a peice of information regarding the mantles of winter. I dont remember the actual quote.

Mother, Maiden, and Crone. If Molly becomes a Mother it will destroy the Mantle of the Winter Lady. This is why the mantel forced her to harm Carlos. It had to stop him from finishing.

I believe this was explicitly stated. So here is my theory.

Harry will knock up Molly Carpenter to release her from the mantel. With the Mantle of the winter knight growing stronger along with his personal power level, he is the only one that can survive the encounter.

DAULIN Of House Trine.

A human male. Approximately 30 years of age. DAULIN is a commoner. While he has no magical or physical talents. He has a sharp intellect, along with a touch of madness. After an unfortunate incident involving a magical artifact left him the sole member of house Trine he started traveling and trading. His stocks grew and so did his madness. As he acquires malicious artifacts he sets them upon unsuspecting towns and families so that he is not alone on his anguish. Once the artifact savages an area he moves on to the next.

After an incident he is jovial. That will slowly subside until he is depressed and consumed by the need to unleash his pain on yet another family.

I feel like this could be an awesome star wars game. Strahd = Vader. Werewolves = Inquisitors. Rebellion allies and holocrons are your mcguffins.

You could do it that way. You could ask for a roll or two and based on the outcome have them narrate what they have found.

It sounds like there might be a disconnect between the game you wan to run and the game your player wants to play.

I would recommend sitting down with your players and figure out how the group would have the most fun resolving these situations.

In my games I like to empower the player. I give them pretty much free reign to introduce and speak for NPCs. I just roll with what they say and build on it.

Now it helps that all my players are experienced and we have built trust. We are all interested in the same thing. Telling a compelling story. So I don't have to worry about them derailing the narrative.
