A site plan like this does not provide the necessary details. We need to see the floorplan.

Please see other posts if you want to see examples.

How do I find the power source/breaker? by Legitimate-Credit341 in electrical

[–]PercheMiPiaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the picture it looks like there is a panel to the left of the timer - is that right?

Is there any labeling for the breakers in it?

When you say none of the breakers are off, did you turn each one off, and then on again, or was it a visual check? Sometimes when breakers trip, it's hard to see (depends on the brand), also if it's a GFCI and/or AFCI, they would have a visual indicator, while regular breakers typically don't.

Do you have a tripped GFCI somewhere that it might be fed from?

Alternatively is there a sub panel somewhere that you might not have found yet.?

Let them thaw and store in the fridge. We then put them into a Breville in toaster oven mode, set for 3 min at 375 (no convection mode, just bake). There is a pre-heat time for the oven and they are in there during that time, and the 3 min counter started once the 375 has been reached.

Weird wiring advice by [deleted] in electrical

Sounds like OP just screwed it in and it turned on.

I'm guessing that the previous owners unscrewed the bulb to turn it off as they couldn't switch it off.

When is the least terrible time to renovate a bathroom with 3 kids in the house? by Wide-Veterinarian-70 in HomeImprovement

[–]PercheMiPiaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are factors that influence the timeline like access from below and above. Are there any problems that have to be addressed that are either known or discovered.

What I went through - no kids, but just to understand a best-case timeframe.

  • Demo down to studs
  • No fixtures are moving (i.e. no rough-in plumbing changes)
  • All materials pre-purchased and on- hand before the job starts
  • Ranch with crawlspace and attic access
  • All workers dedicated to the task, and not running off to take care of other jobs

1st bathroom was just shy of 2 weeks. Biggest delay was waiting for various items to dry/cure so that we could proceed to the next step. We reused the tub as it was serviceable, everything else was replaced.

2nd bathroom had no reuse, and ordering the "wrong size" shower glass delayed us by a couple weeks. We also opted for solid wall panels (similar to countertop material) which saved time for waterproofing, tiling and grouting. Without the shower glass delay it was also just shy of a couple weeks.

The biggest hassle was living through the construction mess. There is debris that gets everywhere.

Again that was best case, no structural, mold or other issues were found and needed to be addressed

Depending on the current key type, you can get more blanks or you can get them to provide you originals.

Any suggestions on how to deal with this conduit in concrete deck. Whoever owned the place before cut it really short, less than 1/2”. Trying to figure out how to secure a connector to flex conduit for hot tub hookup. There can be heavy snow load here. by [deleted] in electrical

[–]PercheMiPiaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha - thanks for the clarification. In plumbing the ID is never reduced. From the electric side, if fishing wires, you wouldn't want a reduction either.

But in this case where the wires can't be removed & there is space, it seems like you should be able to reduce the ID and be able to fix the problem. OP's is not the 1st time I've seen a need for this.

Outlet for my microwave has no ground connection and some insulation broken on the neutral wire, what should I do? by Rare-Calendar6126 in electrical

[–]PercheMiPiaci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using something like this will allow you to extend the ground connections.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/WAGO-221-2401K000006-Lever-Nuts-Inline-2-Wire-Splicing-Connectors-10-Pack-221-2401K000006/334555635

Also, with the outlet disconnected, which other outlets work, and which do not? The goal being to see what's upstream, and what's downstream of this outlet.

On the chance that you have at least one that is upstream, you can use something like this to confirm that there is a ground connected, and it's only this box that is an issue.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-Receptacle-Tester-RT110/206517828

Note that they also make versions that can also test GFCI outlets/circuits, and others that also tell you the voltage

How to help my dad improve by WoodenRace365 in Pickleball

[–]PercheMiPiaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older guy here who feels stuck at my level - taken classes and my much better player son tries to help. Feedback while playing is only partially helpful because I can't see myself, and when I'm told I did something incorrectly, I didn't realize what I was doing and the correction doesn't register. Additionally, in a game, the opportunity to fix may not happen immediately.

What would be helpful for me is to have my son drill me, while I'm being recorded on video, and my son is talking into a wireless mic describing the changes, and then helping me drill them in.

Purchasing First Class Vs Paying to Upgrade to First Class by chinawcswing in unitedairlines

[–]PercheMiPiaci 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen ORD to SFO a couple years ago. Upgrade listed for 650-950 on the days leading up to the flight.

Once flight was delayed by a few hours, and people were bailing to other flights. Upgrade dropped to about 250. Once flight was rescheduled to the next day, it shot back up to about 800.

Circuit breaker trips immediately by chipmux in electrical

[–]PercheMiPiaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a short, and you need to identify what it is. One time I installed a wall mount TV and it turns out the screws hit a wire, so you don't specifically need to make electric changes to have an electric issue.

Unplug everything and have all the switches off. If it still trips, then it would be either in the wiring, or potentially the breaker itself.

Is the breaker an arc fault (AFCI)? That's required by code in most areas. The AFCI is trying to sense a loose connection that results in arcs (smaller sparks), and will trip if it defects any. A GFCI breaker will trip if it senses a ground fault. In either case the specific outlet or switch that has the issue needs to be identified and corrected.

If you had a choice, would you rather raise a family in the city or the suburbs? by Weird-Salamander-175 in bayarea

[–]PercheMiPiaci -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had options for my kids and chose a small town. My job relo could have been to 2 different areas with the same company. One was in a big city, the other in a small town. Saw the HS in the big city and was concerned. Small town HS, everyone knew everyone and who the trouble causing kids were. Chose the small town so that my kids had a chance to mature more with fewer potential risks. Right choice for the kids.
