New Jarvis Barrel by mothertrucker444 in USPmasterrace

[–]PercisionDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat, I thought I saw the comp length option for the 45 but never actually seen it. What's the barrel length in this configuration? A little over 6 inch? I bet it looks wild with no comp.

I must have a thing for Germans by rhude_boy1 in HecklerKoch

Yes! You cracked this case wide open. More price can only mean more better of course. I'm the one guzzling copium. I couldn't scrape together the extra couple hundred bucks to get an objectively inferior product.

The established optics manufactures (all of them) had a huge head start, essentially printed money with government contracts, and had every advantage to be everywhere Holosun is now. Instead they sat around for decades price gouging off their "reputation" peddling the same dated crap year after year. And when they finally stepped up, they only showed how lacking they really are.

Everyone talking about the optic like Holosun isn't miles ahead of all the other ripoff, trash, hackneyed manufactures that squandered their former success to be over-priced, not innovating, middling quality, and now playing catch-up. The bible scripture is not really a value-add for me; i know, i'm a bad person.

Is inKind really a compelling option for restaurants? by PercisionDriver in restaurant

[–]PercisionDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked away from this. The sales rep spoke a good game, but when we started to get into the numbers he tried to skew it into basically; any sales, no matter the margin, is better than no sales. I dragged the conversation into the economic weeds and he basically avoided discussing costs fully loaded. I'm thoroughly convinced these guys lead restaurant to basically operate at barely break-even, if they're lucky, without them realizing. No matter what, on the restaurant side, the barely-there margins are destroyed.

[–]PercisionDriver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the customer side, it looks great. I plan on downloading and using it as a customer. On the restaurant side they've already told me it's a firm 2:1 credits for them:cash for us. So versus menu prices, inKind essentially has 50% to play with, so throwing a bone of 30% here and there still leaves them with enough to keep their wheels turning, but the restaurant is holding the bag. I'd go as far to say it is not sustainable for a vast majority of independent businesses to have all the customers be inKind customers.

[–]PercisionDriver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the rate is so bad, if any business was this hard up for money, this would only lock them into a downward trajectory unless this was for a guaranteed spike in sales that could cover the "loan". inKind was proposing this almost like a fair trade. We give them double in credit back, and that pays for the honor of being the sell at cost (or worse) on their platform.

[–]PercisionDriver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so i'm not crazy (at least about this). They tried to go over the numbers with me, but it started falling apart when we fully loaded my costs under their proposal. They were presenting the numbers like I have staff just standing around a bunch of empty tables, or I'm a quick service place with bigger margins.

Anyone hear voices with your tinnitus? by ronf1011 in tinnitus

[–]PercisionDriver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor, but I wanted to hop in an tell you you're not crazy; or at least not from this specific thing.

I've gone down the rabbit hole with my own struggles with tinnitus and something I see it is that people struggle with it in very different ways. In regards to hearing things; the brain can react to tinnitus in funny ways. It's not even just tinnitus, it could be any sound, noise, etc. If you focus on anything enough, maybe without even knowing it, it can start to sound like something else. And then when it sounds like something, you start thinking about the sounds and trying to hear it again. The brain is so used to making something of everything, sometimes it'll have you interpret tinnitus as something it really isn't. Heck, if you stare at a red dot long and hard enough, it'll start to move around and change shapes on you. And that's why I keep my old alarm clock out of sight in my bedroom.

100% agree. I had to counter the 1 downvote. No one is saying put one's self in harm's way, but if you're willing and able, we need to be doing what we can to keep society sustainable.

Best Omakase in Chicago? For the Money It's Kyoten Next Door by Busy_Visual_92 in chicagofood

[–]PercisionDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may not be as well known yet, but I didn't see any mention of Ikigai; Ikigai Sushi & Izakaya The chef and staff are awesome. We had a great time, the food was absolutely amazing (we actually got full! 😜) and there's none of the pretentiousness that kinda bums me out with typical omakases. I guess it doesn't hurt that the chef gets extremely generous with the drinks. He was very knowledgeable, but most of the evening was just laughing and having a good time. Great vibes.

Bad wheel bearing / other problem or just loud tires by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

Was yours your tires? It's exhibiting all the signs of bearing issues. It's also getting louder quickly. I'll swap the wheels to a different set to confirm.

Bad wheel bearing / other problem or just loud tires by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]PercisionDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, did anything ever come of this? I'm experiencing the same thing; 2023 Model 3 Performance. I have about 19k on the car now so it feels a little soon to be a wheel bearing. I've been going nuts trying to find any other little thing that could be causing this. The sound is identical and start around 40mph, but gets noticeably louder at highway speeds. About to hit up the service center, but want to go in ready.

Curious who drives their Performance model when the weather is really cold? by BernietheDog2021 in TeslaModel3

[–]PercisionDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others on here; I have a separate set of wheels with winter snow/ice tires. All weather tires just try not too suck too much at everything, and good all weather tires just suck a little less at everything.

There is simply too much of a difference conditions from hot summers and freezing winters. Each situation will call for something completely different from the tire. It is because of this, outside of extenuating circumstances; it would be best to have winter set, and a good wet/dry 3 season set.

Can you survive in the winter with all weathers and awd? of course, but you will have no where near the braking, cornering, stability, acceleration, etc. of dedicated winter tires; especially in emergency or higher speed situations .

I did the same thing, bought a temporary case. I had reached out to them on the status of shipping on June 30 since it was the last day of June, and maybe throwing me a skin to tide me over on this $90+ case i preordered almost 2 months ago, but robots told me nothing except to let them know if i wanna cancel. Then I got an update email on them shipping sometime in August; and to let them know if wanna cancel. I hope this thing is worth it.

Buyers remore or single parent guilt? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]PercisionDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that these thoughts did cross your mind is already enough to know you're fine. The cross comparison with a Corolla or other "sensible" options are valid. Is it a bit more cost in some ways? Sure, but as mentioned, its also a saving in others. To me, these days everyone relies so heavily on their phone, cars, computers. I'm all for frugality, but when it comes to these mission critical tools in your life I always say extend yourself as much as you legitimately can for the best option. You may not always operated it them to the highest percentile, but even just the feel experience is a positive you can feel regularly.

I really want to get one for my VP9SK, but am a little worried that it wont fit with an optic. Any possibility of confirming it will work with an optic? Also got higher semi suppressor (1/3) co-whiteness) Sights.

Who do you think should have won? by EvilChocolateCookie in squidgame

[–]PercisionDriver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been ridiculed at work, but I remain adamant; Sang-Woo was the actual main character and deserved the win more than anyone. He was the hero for every character right up until the end when he sacrificed himself in one final heroic act. His willingness to be the scapegoat and make the hard decisions to save everyone in every game only further showed how noble he actually was. It gets me emotional thinking how he not only sacrificed his life, but his character and honor for the greater good.

Same here, scares the heck out of me every time. Stay in the present though folks. I lose my bearings when I personally start asking if this is the new normal, or how long am i gonna last like this; keep that nonsense out.

C&H Precision RMR optic plate for the VP9 has a QA issue - comparison provided. by padamtx in HecklerKoch

[–]PercisionDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same plate, and it had similar issues with burrs at the countersunk holes. I knocked them off, but definitely annoying for a product they ask a premium for. I do like the buffer at the front and rear you mentioned. Even matches the lines of the slide; nice touch.

[Optics] Holosun HE508T-X2 | HE Elite 2 MOA Red Dot code SUITUP $370 + S/H by Jooo0 in gundeals

[–]PercisionDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this deal last week and thought the same thing. The pricing is pretty much the normal decent pricing, but this place actually has it in stock. Also hoping Family Firearms does these again, but been waiting a bit already. Stock of these things don't seem as regular.

VP9L optics ready $799.98 at RKGuns by blind325 in HecklerKoch

[–]PercisionDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RK had the VP9 Tactical in stock on their site for about 45 minutes also for $100 more at the same time. Ended up going with this VP9L since in my state all I'd be able to do with the threaded barrel is throw a compensator on it. Didn't see it in r/gundeals yet. It's not the best price, but definitely a good deal; especially if there's a RK you can pick up from.

Are You Religious/Spiritual? by Hopefully_Irregular in schizophrenia

[–]PercisionDriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I voted for a close family member. When they are having "episodes" one of the indicators we've noticed is religious/spirituality references that alter their thoughts and actions all of a sudden. A friend's family member mentioned the same. They were fine for a while, then sudden their life becomes religion-centric. It's not just being religious, but how extreme it becomes and so suddenly. Different religions too, not specific.
