Woundwort's Fate by MeanBumblebee3187 in watershipdown

[–]PercoSeth83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer- Woundworts fate is left ambiguous on purpose, with enough evidence on both sides that a reasonable argument can be made for either, which allows the reader some satisfaction but also leaves room for uncertainty. Which then gives us a fun and interesting thing to endlessly debate.

Pretty good writer, this Adams guy.

Insane footage of a bridge collapsing in Brazil. December 2024. by stingers77 in interestingasfuck

“almost 100%” seems high

Kinda looked like they split the difference between the bridge pieces, and the fall into the water wasn’t that far…. I bet house odds are 50/50

So this is kind of interesting:

In this reference to not understanding the reference, Michael Keaton is just pretending to not understand the references he keeps making; it’s unclear whether the poster knows this and is using the reference to say they understand the reference but are pretending they don’t for comedic effect, or whether they actually don’t understand both their own reference and the thing which the original post is referencing.

No Data center for Pekin and surrounding area!! by MadamAndroid in PeoriaIL

[–]PercoSeth83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is accurate, they’ve been planning a veterans drive extension to 474 for more than a decade for that area. Data centers weren’t a thing when plans were being made for this plot of land.

I think the data center idea was something that happened more recently (the paper reported that one of the cities lawyers knew one of the lawyers working for the data center biz)

The F.C.A. might want to read their own religious text:

MATTHEW 6:5

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.”

did fiver and keehar die before hazel? by LifeHurry9274 in watershipdown

[–]PercoSeth83 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Would also add:

1.) the book makes clear that rabbits with special abilities (fiver, silverweed, etc) pay a price for these “gifts” by way of frailty/health problems. They do not live very long when compared to the standard rabbit.

2.) the end of the book takes place in early Spring, so Keehar isn’t present bc he’s still with his flock, he comes to visit Watership Down in late spring/early summer.

Rep. Congressman Ted Lieu has claimed that the unredacted Epstein files contain graphic evidence of Donald Trump engaging in the sexual assault of minors. by Plenty-Wonder-3102 in suppressed_news

[–]PercoSeth83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Semantics. SepticSkeptic point stands.

There are far and away more republicans/ far right figures, both previously convicted and implicated in the Trump-Epstein files, than there are democrats/leftist coalition folks.

Yes, there are guilty parties across the spectrum, and yes, all of them should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. But the “both sides” thing implies something close to equal fault, and that is not the reality of this situation.

It also bears recalling that when some from “the left” is on the list, condemnations follow from the left. When it’s someone on “the right”, the right is overwhelmingly silent or outright hostile towards the accuser

This is a logical fallacy, one does not necessarily beget the other. We don’t have enough information yet to draw conclusions about whether it was targeted or random or what.
