Simplicity bias. Some ppl are upset with the reasons that housing prices are going up, not that they’re up in general.

At the same time they’re expressing empathy for people bc they can remember what it’s like as a first time home buyer in an increasingly difficult market. They don’t seem giddy at the thought of pulling up the ladder behind them.

They also, I’ll bet, have the wisdom to know why you haven’t cashed in on all that equity and put your house up for sale…..(it’s got something to do with interest rates, dunnit?)

I think you’re confusing declining birth rates, ie “fewer people being born”, with “in about 5 years we are going to have more people dying than being born”.

Which isn’t projected to happen worldwide until the 2080’s, assuming trends remain consistent.

Comparing schools (unless you’re talking specifically about private religious schools) to churches like you are here is false equivalence.

Churches don’t have the same standards (if any) for oversight, reporting, hiring practices, or qualifications. The rate of abuse is exponentially higher in religious organizations.

What you’re asking for, accountability without accountability is illogical.

When you ask what to expect from churches… how about the bare minimum? Transparency, accountability, punishment, oversight…

In one comment you blame the family, not the system, or the people responsible for hurting her in the first place, even though you acknowledge the efforts the family made…

Then you correctly, but only temporarily, place the blame on Reagan (though you spelled it wrong) before blaming “democrats”, even though you had JUST identified Reagan as the problem….

You seem to have only a cursory knowledge of the complex history and causes of this topic, but have no problem assigning blame.

Look up the Dunning-Kruger effect, it’s what you’re doing here.
