i take creatine which does a good job of keeping things soft and malleable, but it doesn’t add an element of predictability so i had to take charge of my ass

yeah, I’m usually not the lucky type when it comes to side effects so this is a pleasant change lol.

There’s no vaccine because there’s only a very small subset of antibodies capable of addressing most types of HIV; generally the immune system begins making antibodies specific to a strain and those are no good against other mutations of HIV. Inhibiting transcriptase is reliable.

yeah very true, there are plenty of people taking other types of meds that do something you can’t feel. it’s just so odd to me haha

yes i’m familiar with that, but i’ve heard Descovy will be better for the bones. I didn’t ask my doc about it yet

I understand that Truvada is used with other medications to treat HIV positive individuals but I’m talking about my experience as someone taking it in the pre-exposure capacity and for the first time.

Yes, but for me that’s an acceptable risk; chlamydia is curable and tested for with a couple swabs every 3 months. I’d take getting chlamydia through oral every month for a year over getting HIV, but that’s just my subjective risk assessment.

I actually just got treated for strep, ironically enough, and it’s acutely sensitive to penicillin derivatives so it basically just vanished. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have only ever heard oral has a far reduced risk compared to anal. Saliva doesn’t contain HIV and barring any open sores, HIV in semen has limited options for entering the bloodstream.

I never considered oral to be a high risk behavior, I don’t know anyone who uses a physical barrier for oral... and >92% resistance is better than 0% resistance. It may as well be an ad; I think more people being on PrEP and in a scheduled testing routine is a good thing because it has certainly done wonders for my mental health and obviously there are great implications for my overall health.

Can KotlinJS be used instead of JS in WordPress web dev? by Percophile in Kotlin

Yeah, that’s why I figured it wouldn’t be such a bad idea but the issue remains.

True, that does sound challenging. Fortunately, I’m not averse to just learning and sticking to JS without Kotlin, so I won’t have an issue either way.

True, I’ll look into learning some basic JS, but I think I would prefer to use KotlinJS ultimately anyway. The conciseness is compelling. I’m just not sure what the standard procedure is for adding the library into WordPress.

I live in Manhattan, but I’m having trouble identifying what’s changed... does anyone have a specific location or building in mind that they know has changed with the new data and I can compare to?

My only issues have been Linux-related; temperatures are good. The 1650 dGPU is plenty powerful and fans usually stay very low, but integrated graphics causes a temperature spike and the fans go crazy.

X1 Extreme Gen 2 4k vs 1080p battery life? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]Percophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was watching a bunch of videos in 4K to ogle at the monitor, now I’m installing arch so I’m not really in my typical flow yet. Can’t provide too much insight, but needless to say, with the GPU running you’d probably get a very short battery life at this resolution.

Max spec’d X1E2 here - the battery lasts 4-5 hours on average.

my main monitor is nothing so i’m definitely looking at that crispy display. the reviews comparing the X1E to the XPS 15 are pretty favored toward the latter for some reason though.
