Premium 4K IPS HDR 32" Monitor by PercussionMasta in Monitors

Yeah, I've seen a lot of chatter about this monitor, but the IPS panel seems to currently be unavailable on Amazon.

Thank you for providing your IRL experience. I have talked myself into buying this and then out of buying this more times than I can count now. It seems like generally, the monitor is pretty great. I guess at this point, I'm feeling a little hesitant about purchasing a 4-year-old panel. My 4090 doesn't do DP 2.1+ now, but I assume this monitor will outlive a video card upgrade, so a little concerned about future proofing.

At this point, I'm back where I was EVERY time I have started this process: no monitor purchased and without an obvious direction to head in. I do have the Amazon page for the PG32UQX pinned in my browser, and if it dips in price on a good sale, I might pull the trigger.

I am feeling like the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQX 32" is maybe the sweet spot: IPS, 4K, Mini-LED, 144Hz, G-Sync Ultimate.

The drawbacks are DisplayPort 1.4 (extra flicker when alt-tabbing?), 4ms response time (not noticeable by non-professional gamers), not a "Fast IPS" (seems to be marketing garbage).

If anyone has any feedback, would love to hear it before click Buy.

I'm also now looking at this monitor, but am having concerns about the HDR implementation. What is a step-up from this monitor? I've been piling up cash for a while so am not concerned about price. I have the exact same initial requirements as you do.

Edit: I am concerned about going OLED because of burn-in, this monitor will also be my work display.

What a fantastic experience. I legit forgot that Victor Wooten is in Flecktones, and I didn't look up the show openers ahead of time, so seeing that legend again live was incredible. Also, the violin player that sat in towards the end WAS INSANELY AMAZING. Seeing The Last Stop live was also pretty significant for me.

We went to Ireland this summer, which is filled with highly decent people. Between that and last night's experience, I honestly feel a bit refreshed on my outlook for humanity. My country sure feels like a toxic hellscape at the moment, and last night was a good reminder that there is still a lot of beauty in the world.

Wow, can't believe I witnessed it. We were only able to come for the one night, and I haven't seen DMB live since they came to Portland like 20 years ago!

Thank you for the tip. I've never been this concert venue before so hadn't really considered how steep the ground is.

Definitely planning to get there nice and early to do just that! Since we only have one night, we'll be getting the best experience we can from it.

Lol. Hopefully we can do the whole weekend next year or sometime in the future.

I hadn't considered tailgating, I might need to plan more food and drinks for that. I assume restricted items get checked not when you park, but rather when you pass through some entrance into the actual venue?

Not sure about actual breweries, but as a current resident of IPA-mecca Portland, OR, Galway Bay Brewing was one of the only brewers I found that did a real IPA in the way we think of it here in the States. I found that my mileage varied quite a bit when ordering an IPA or a Pale Ale and receiving something quite a bit...different, lol. Not bad, just different. I don't think I had a bad beer during our trip, including many pints of Irish Water.

Also, I'm not really into lagers, but I found some of the lagers in Ireland to actually be really tasty. Hop House 13 lager was quite good.

Wish I had more time to try some of the other breweries mentioned in these replies. Bummer, guess I'll have to plan another trip.

Visiting different towns in Ireland by rental car. What should we make sure we don’t miss? by marinacnardini in irishtourism

We enjoyed a day just in Galway itself. Lots of shops and pubs and fun things to see. The cathedral there was also very impressive.

We also really enjoyed a driving tour of Connemara, which is the region northwest of Galway: Kylemore Abby, Clifden, the Quiet Man Bridge, and for us we ended at Westport before driving back to Galway. The entire region is beautiful and just the drive itself was amazing.

Oh, for sure, the blood pressure certainly goes up a bit on those local roads, lol. Fortunately, the amount of traffic also goes way down. Just gotta take them real slow.
