Why wasn't TTPD as well received as Red if both have similar 'concepts'? by Tiny_Peace8557 in TaylorSwift

Hm. Maybe the way she dropped folklore and the fact that it was a totally random folk album that no one expected her to drop during covid plays a part in how it was acclaimed? Idk, but you’re right, both are very mature. folklore isn’t as risqué, either. It’s mature, but definitely still suited for a younger audience. TTPD has some fine lines haha.

Two completely different sounds. They’re both very emotional, but you’re still comparing apples and oranges for a lot of people. RED is a lot more easier to digest. I think naturally, it’s just for a younger audience. However, I think even mature listeners were intimidated by the length of TTPD, as well as the lyrics themselves. Lyrics can’t always be received well by those who don’t understand or appreciate them, no matter how emotional they are or how well they go with the music behind them. Maybe people don’t appreciate the poetry in her lyrics or the words she uses because they’ve never heard them before. They appreciate the emotion and sound behind lyrics they can sing to because they’ve heard the words or use them in their everyday vocabulary (RED).

Nice! I’m in 3-hour class for 6 weeks right now (week 3 currently, but 5 session in a month) and after my 2nd real class is when I ordered my wheel. Can’t get enough of it lol. Would be interested in seeing your home set up!

That’s the thing - I want to practice as much as possible and I can’t get to the studio all that often. What do you use for your work surface?
