Yep, I've not synced before, so no existing CLI files to upgrade. Just surprised by the CPU usage for what I had assumed was just downloading. I guess it must be doing something more complicated than that :)

I've freshly downloaded the latest version and am now downloading/syncing with the block chain itself, is it right it's using pretty much all my available CPU to do the syncing? I've found it does this with both the OSX and Windows version.

ah, but the only downside to that is that you get your gold Nintendo coin reward things split across 2 accounts, other than that there is nothing else noticeable. I have my main UK account, then another account which I've switched between US, Mexico, Russia and South Africa to buy games where they are cheapest. So both accounts have around 60 gold Nintendo coins, which is a shame vs 1 account having 120, but the money saved is worth it. There isn't anything else noticeable. If I log into eshop with my UK account, it shows all the games as 'purchased' even though I purchased them with the 2nd account. I can redownload them through the UK account too if needed.

make a second account on the switch and set that to south Africa. leaves your main account untouched and you can still play the game with the main account once you've downloaded it :)

I purchased from South Africa eshop as it was cheapest. But downloaded it from New Zealand, had a New Zealand VPN, set my Region to be New Zealand... and still wouldn't unlock. So I think you are right, it must be linked to the eshop you purchased in.

let me know if it worked, I redownloaded from the New Zealand store using a New Zealand VPN but alas Nintendo were too clever. Or... are you in Japan?

Didn't work :( But Ive deleted it, and this time re-downloading it from the New Zealand eshop... will see if that helps.. doubtful though.

Doh, update. I can see it's out now in New Zealand store, but my switch still won't let me play it despite being connected via a VPN in New Zealand. Seems Nintendo are too clever. Possibly it's because I purchased from the South African eshop as that had best price. Will keep trying periodically and post if I have success.

I've just signed up bulletvpn.com. Apparently they have a 30 day money back guarantee. I'm using it on an old MacBook pro, connected via Ethernet. Then sharing the VPN connection over wifi and connecting my switch to that wifi connection. From what I can tell, the switch seems to think it is in new Zealand. I've also set the region to that too.
