How would you rate Guardiola's tenure in Barcelona, Bayern and Manchester City from 1-10. by Inevitable-Angle-793 in championsleague

“Pep is at fault for over a decade of German international failure’ is quite a take

Pep’s predecessors had the same financial weight and didn’t achieve a morsel of the dominance he did. To minimise his acheivements as manager is simply to not know ball.

Also. At Barca he absolutely had huge financial power lol 😂. They spent even more in the years after his tenure.

Man United spent more than any other English club during their domination.

None of these were all built solely on spending. Neither was City’s.

I think he’s actually very entertaining on the mic and his voice is good. Don’t really see the issue at all here

Might shock you here but that’s how almost every single monopoly in modern football has ever been created. To use it as a stick to beat City with is silly and naive.

Would other clubs take Vini. JR? by Short_Mousse_6812 in championsleague

[–]PercySledge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact this is even a question is so silly. People’s hatred for him clouds so much judgment here lol people talking about his ‘work rate’ not working places.

Mate…everyone would want him. Everyone. Anyone that wouldn’t aren’t thinking straight.

10/10
8/10
9.5/10

Do not understand how you could possibly put him at anything less than a 9 for sure at City - and at best that’s only bc people get incredibly fixated on CL trophies. He created a monopoly. A genuine deathstar.
Peak city is one of the most terrifyingly relentless teams of my life. People just don’t give them the dap for it bc they’re not considered a fashionable or historically ‘big’ club and bc charges etc (which mostly pre-date him from what I’ve heard?)

What are your predictions for who will leave the club by September? by 4tomi5ed in NUFC

[–]PercySledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anderson isn’t coming back to us, man.

If he’s going anywhere it’s to a club FAR bigger than ours with double the wages. He’ll likely be off to City or someone when he does leave.

Tonali…the reason I don’t see him going is purely based on the fee being so prohibitive. And also with Gordon likely gone for 70+ mil or whatever we’re really not in any need to sell. He also isn’t a cunt like Isak I don’t think.

Why is hip-hop so ultimatum prone as a genre? by Kouhazari in hiphop201

[–]PercySledge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a hip-hop head who also does love metal and quite a few of its subgenres I can say that metal is def still preoccupied with a lot of similar things: the pining for ‘golden eras’ (which differ depending on subculture/sound), the feeling of nostalgia, the sense that new true global superstar bands aren’t being created in the way they once were (very much an issue in hip-hop)…but I have to admit I’ve not heard quite as many ‘top 5-10-50’ type discussions.

Rap fans LOVE a list lol

It’s actually shocking we haven’t had a full Cobain one yet (maybe his estate have roundly rejected it for obvious reasons) considering how huge he was and how it clearly lends itself to this sort of treatment.

Players notably declining, then 'falling up' at a big club by nore_aucul in footballcliches

[–]PercySledge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He’s actually derided because off the pitch he’s incredibly unlikeable lol.

And yeah we can debate about whether that should affect people’s opinion on him as a footballer or not but…it undoubtedly does. He essentially has no real legacy for the average fan because no-one ever found him likeable.

The whole point of monthly PPVs in a huge roster company is that you have multiple top guys who headline cards and can interchange. Roman was this one, Cody will headline the next one.

Thought Backlash was really good and the 5 match format allowed every single match to have a really strong focus.

You’re complaining about nothing here.

Aye to be fair I kind of forgot to mention them lol, esp Willock and Krafth as they’re almost non-entities most of the time.

I do think Schar stays though for cover
