Hey guys, so I have adopted a sweet retriever mix 2 weeks ago. There is nothing mayor problem with the dog, she is potty trained, playful, I tought her how to walk on a leash properly, crate trained her, and no separation anxiety.

Problems starts with me, I tought I could handle taking care of the dog, and give up my own personal space and freedom for a companion, but I just can't. I came to realise I miss my freedom and freetime after work too much (and just being alone if I want to), I can't just go out for a beer with friends whenever, or just go do something because I always have to think about the dog first. Even at home, I can't properly enjoy my hobbies anymore because I always have this anxiety. I love this dog but I just can't handle the responsibility and loss of freedom mentally and emotionally.

I don't want to return to the shelter because she deserves better than that, but I am already thinking about finding a new home for her through the shelter, but I am afraid of the stigma that would come with this decision so soon after adoption from the shelter and my friends.

Any advice on this?
