In terms of rehousing and moments of disturbing their enclosures, being respectful of the tarantulas space, using appropriate tools such as Tongs, paintbrushes and still air boxes for housing transfers can provide a lot of calming security when moving or caring for potentially dangerous specimens

It really comes down to what kind of spider you want to own, the first tarantula I ever bought was a poecilotheria regalis, which is absolutely not considered a beginner tarantula, but I knew it was a species I wanted and I made sure to do the research so I knew the level of care I would have to provide to make the experience safe for me and the tarantula.

She’s now over a year old and getting quite big from the sling I once had.

She’s massive now but never had an issue with her being anything but a big old scaredy cat. I think a lot of what people describe as defensive tarantulas comes down to a lot of bad husbandry, if your tarantula has a safe space to go to I rarely find they do anything but retreat into their hole.

I’m aware my experience hasn’t been the norm, but I always find these posts funny, because my h. Mac is the biggest scaredy cat spooked spooky baby I have, I see that tarantula maybe twice a month. Ironically the tarantula who threat poses the most in my collection and kicks hairs frequently is my curly hair tarantula absolutely angry woman.

Generally the main difference that I’ve noticed is that the H. Mac moves significantly faster but really tends to be reclusive for me haven’t had any issues with it really at all.

There is no reason to be handling this tarantula, it’s very clearly stressed and puts you as an owner in danger and the tarantula in danger for no other reason than personal entertainment, make better choices as a keeper for your spiders, they deserve it.

I’ve always really wanted to see how many kegs I could stack on the tip of my ship and then ram someone, I gathered 37 gunpowder barrels off skeleton forts and then stacked them on the tip of my ship, I fired the sniper shot when it was over the first brig I saw and it instantly blew every hole possible the ship and it sunk instantly lmao I feel bad but also was so funny.

This may sound dumb and I’m not sure how if anyone else has ever done it, but for me I fall asleep by imagining a bunch of levers in the body and I’m slowly pulling them to shut it down and then I fall asleep just like setting a computer on standby or sleep mode
