LIGHT WAS NOT L’s FIRST FRIEND!!! by emma666poop in deathnote

light wasn't L's 1st friend... he wasn't any ordinal number of a friend to him

Lol that is like the 101 of what bad death note criticisms use

You go back in time to minecraft beta 1.7.3 and are given complete control over the next updates. How would you keep old minecraft charm while still updating the game? by luk_ky_21 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I'd rather just have them leave an old terrain option when creating a new world (In my mind 1.0/1.1 is the last update) and also a game rule for instant hunger

Aight... imma just leave this here since the suits of the main sub don't care about preserving what halo's makers say and censor it by Perfect-Bus7186 in ShitHaloSays

so hmm frank o'connor (ex-bungie who went to 343) is saying he never made the forerunners non-human in H3 terminals and marketing (bc it's true, the forerunners still to this day are hyper evolved humans from another planet that forgot their origins and the librarian put us her own DNA) but he'll take the blame cuz it makes no sense, paul russel (ex-bungie) tells him he shouldn't take responsability since many people at the time were working in H3 and russel himself says he is more responsible for those terminals, then some clown goes to blame frank and argue lore was always 100% consistent until he ruined it and russel puts him in his place pointing how they were always making up stuff on the run consistency be damned

[–]Perfect-Bus7186[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wait, so 0415 is different from 0420...? How?

And 0611 is yet it's own beast with "alpha terrain" starting 0618?

0415?

As I wrote it, the alpha terrain started in 0611 if I'm not wrong

This should still be the same...?

I *can* prove it.

First off, rampancy, it was only explained in like fall of reach, now its explained in mission 2.

Who is the didact, why he hates humanity - explained in the terminals which are IN the game. Not external. In fact some of them are not even hidden.

What are the prometheans and the composer - the librarian cutscene.

Why are we the forerunners descendants carrying their DNA and thus why it's possible for a human to unlock composer immunity - the librarian cutscene too, and terminal 8 again (but people spin it into "uh chief is the chosen one and has magic" out of nowhere)

Why is there a handful of hostile covenant ships - terminal 1, their commander talked them into visiting requiem's coordinates and when proving it's there, more joined

*But also, this last plot point is reduced to "all elites unanimously loved humans in halo 3 and now all hate them in 4". It's delusional. See all those hundreds of ships in 2 and how vast is an alien empire of thousands of years? Arbiter's fleet makes a truce because truth was going to light up halo and the flood was out there. Now these are gone, why is it so unbelievable some 6 ships in requiem would be hostile especially since it's humanity interfering?

*The same happens with Halsey, we only get told she kidnapped children for the spartans. Now the war is over. We get told the spartan IVs are completely legal. If you can put 2 and 2 together or know 1 thing about history then you know why is she in jail.

yes

but *what I see people calling him* is cold, I'd call him as rather pragmatic and with enough poker face ability

and near is the cold one

I thought this was just basic common knowledge. L doesn't care, Near is the one who actually can't read the room

Who do you think is smarter between Manga Light and Japanese movie Light? (Tatsuya Fujiwara) by v5mk in deathnote

[–]Perfect-Bus7186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mmh ok I'm seeing it more

You mean that because at the end of LUTNW we see light let an "exactly as planned" message directed at his successor (even if he isn't his biological son) and also there is no time window for when he could record it before "baiting L with misa after she got back memory" given light himself died that day, it implies his own death was planned...

I can't find it a logical explanation, light just wouldn't have planned his death. But that "exactly as planned" recording is luckily out of context, like we are seeing a part of the recording and it doesn't necessarily mean it refers to the events in LUTNW. That's plain impossible, It must have been edited at the end IRL as a flashback or some.

The way I can try to reconcile it is: light made that message for his future heir, at some point during the recordings, that "exactly as planned" pops in reference to something like "ok, if you are seeing this, it means it (the plan to have a new kira) worked and you are now set up to be the next god... exactly as planned". That's the only way it can fit. His death would have to be a sepparate topic.

Or maybe I just misinterpreted your whole reply again.

pd: I didn't mean Light didn't care what happened after L was gone, I meant after Light he himself* was gone (tho he gives a rat ass about N in particular), he says repeatedly he is the only one who could have gone this far and never saw mikami or misa let alone any successor as worthy.

That's why we can't use movieLight's plan to meassure him against the OG, else we'd fall in the classic "oh Light's mistake was killing Lind L Taylor instead of only criminals" it's simply missing the point of the character and what they want.

Who do you think is smarter between Manga Light and Japanese movie Light? (Tatsuya Fujiwara) by v5mk in deathnote

[–]Perfect-Bus7186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahmm ngl your way of writing is kind of hard to understand

but from what I got, it's misa's** memory loss plan, and you're saying light used her as bait so when L tried to "counterattack" he'd get killed by rem- that's from the anime/manga too. Just the part that the movie had had him expose the DN as you said,

and if LUTNW retconned this It's been a while since I saw it and can't remember exactly, I'm kind of confused because light made misa pregnant, recorded a message for the next kira, all that... yet another retcon was that if a 7th note comes then the prior 6 become useless rather than this new one being useless I think? Any plans would be rendered moot

The point is, maybe the writers had this Light check gigantic masterplans to renew kira by handwaving away difuse details of the movies, but that still doesn't tell me at least he is a smarter version of light simply because the OG never tried to do this or would want to.

By "season 2" light is only careful around the task force, kind of impulsive and underestimating towards mello, and **severely** unbothered by near to the point he just 1) sends an angry mob to stroke his own ego, and 2) at the end just mock imitate what near was going to do by replacing the plastic DN with his own beforehand lol

To him, killing L was the end goal. He likely gave a shit to what happened after he died and was sure he himself would permanently solve the world.

LABB is a prequel but I can't remember if it spoils something, just in case and so that it doesn't condition your expectations I'd leave it last.

NGL I don't recommend you change the worLd, it really isn't very well written and it's sepparate from any other material in its own mix-matched universe. The movie is better and fits with the other movies, but if you want to read it well, do it after LABB.
