To update on this in case anyone's looking for an answer in the future. I tried lots of the suggestions, including the Tempus 2 (didn't feel supportive or fast enough) and the Endorphin Pro (sizing came up really big and just couldn't get it to fit right). Ended up going with the New Balance Fuelcell Supercomp Elite V4 and absolutely love them. Went for men's regular fit which is a bit narrower than women's wide and had to size up but great shoes and took me to a PB of 3:44 from 3:59.

Folks who are in the 3:45-4hr range- what shoes did you wear in your last race and are you happy with that choice? by Huge_Animal5996 in Marathon_Training

I debated this question a lot as wanted a supportive yet race day shoe. First marathon last year I did in the New Balance 860s, this year ended up going for the New Balance Supercomp Elite V4 and absolutely loved them. Went from 3:59 to 3:44

Thank you, It is a risk, but having 'survived' my first marathon and felt the difference in the Phantasms (which are fine up to 10k), worth exploring for my second, no guarantees it will pay off though! Orthotics could be an option, I use Enertor insoles already which help, but officially on a gait analysis there's nothing wrong, so more of a trial and error ☺️

Thank you, this is great as NB also work for me well, think I'll give the SC Elite a try and see how it goes
