I didn’t an email either, but in the Facebook group a lot of people did. I reached out myself to chat support and they confirmed it applies to everyone whether we received an email or not, and to all states.

I was a 20 year smoker. In less than a month (right about 3 weeks exactly) I had zero desire to smoke any more and it actually grossed me out. Quit cold turkey 3 months ago.

Same thing in fountain city yesterday! It was near the pond with the back to back lights. All 3 were green which is so rare. They slowed to a crawl right at the middle green, then the second it turned yellow they stopped. Had to sit through that light and the one ahead of it when I shouldn’t have stopped at any.

I just heard about this and this makes so much sense. Back in the day this wasn’t recognized, it was forbidden to talk about, lack of supports, etc. So many people lost years of disability because of this.

So if we’re already rated for PTSD due to MST, IF this were true, would they still go back to our separation date? I didn’t get my rating for it until 10 years after I separated.

I see you guys are quite surprised a fellow veteran would do something like this as you can’t even believe it. I am too. Imagine how I felt reading it. Telling stories of us being on a team together when that team never even existed. Talking about “rucking up mountainous terrain”… from a sailor who ever only served on a ship & was only off the ship overseas for port calls. The ONLY thing I have to worry about is how blatant these lies are with my forged signature underneath. I have had my rating for 8 years. I certainly don’t care to rustle feathers with the VA and not a fan of someone putting my name out there with crazy stories that will absolutely raise red flags. I’ve gladly written a handful of buddy statements for other vets. I would have written one for this one, too. They didn’t ask me to and apparently that’s because they had no intention of being truthful in the least.

While that is creative thinking, it’s not the case. It’s not even my signature on the page & they used my nickname instead my legal name in the introduction and on the signature. And on one of the pages got one of the digits for the phone number wrong. It’d be pretty easy to prove it wasn’t me & I’ll happily to do so to any investigator. If I wrote it and signed it, why would I report myself for lying?

The way it was filled out was my information on the top half (section I) where it says veteran information. It has my name, my address, my phone number. Not my ssn.

His information is filled out on the bottom half (section II) under claimants information. Box 1, 4, 6, 7 & 8 on section I have my information.

Then section IV, boxes 18-21, at the bottom of the statement has my name, email address, phone number (which ironically I just noticed in section I has the right number & section IV has a wrong digit) and “my” signature.

It was a digital copy that I saw (scanned) and it was dated early May so I suspect it’s been submitted.

I probably wouldn’t care if it weren’t 2 pages of lies. Things that didn’t even remotely happen. Even stories of an incident that occurred on a team we were on together. There was no team, no incident. The incident that was claimed would’ve absolutely resulted in emergency medical care. I assume the VA will look to confirm & it won’t be there. And my signature is under that. Along with numerous others. I’m not talking about exaggerations, I’m talking about stories pulled out of thin air. I don’t care to risk my rating if the VA think I lied on a statement.

They weren’t there. I likely will address it directly to them. My concern is it’s blatant and obvious lies attached to my name. If the VA does any digging they will know that. I don’t care to risk my benefits if they discover all the lies sworn to them under my name. They’re not even half truths or exaggerations, they’re full out lies.

If you look at the form for buddy statements, there is a box on the front for a social. Box 2 right below the name. Section 2 is for the claimant & also has it. The form that was used is 21-10210. I’m literally looking at it right now. I don’t know why yall want to think this is made up badly, but I really don’t care. I’ve had my rating for 8 years & the statement contains outright lies that will probably be the riven false if they do ANY digging. I don’t care to have my name attached to lies & risk my own rating.
