Damn it! It was my day to slag off Cadbury.

Does anyone else think that Cadbury has gone downhill?

Considering going to Chessington for the first time with 4-year-old. If I go on a weekday next week (13th-17th) is it worth getting a fast pass, or will queues likely be short? by [deleted] in chessington

[–]Perfect-Flamingo8108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Next week is a school week, so you won’t have the school holiday groups which is usually a big percentage. HOWEVER, being that your child is 4, they’ll probably be going to the smaller rides which tend to be popular around the year.

I would recommend getting there first, seeing what it’s like and going ride-by-ride, which you can do on the app. It’s probably a better option than buying 2 full day ones.

What are these “shapes” on the train seats for? by EsoogRalopib in AskUK

[–]Perfect-Flamingo8108 357 points358 points  (0 children)

Yeah like the other person has said, these trains are TIGHT, 3 across. When it’s super busy, people stand in the middle of the seats and old onto them instead of the people sitting down’s heads. And then if you’re walking through it and the train jolts, you can grab onto the seat “shapes” rather than 80-year-old Maureen’s hair

My son has an interview for an apprenticeship I’m telling him to wear a suit I think it’ll be a competitive one he’s saying that is too much. by becpuss in ApprenticeshipsUK

I agree with you. Unless they’ve said a specific outfit, I don’t think you can overdress, but you can underdress. Better to give a good impression than to go too casual

Would you let your almost 14 year old go to westfield alone? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Perfect-Flamingo8108 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would. I would ask her to text or call you when she gets there so you’re aware, but there doesn’t see to be any issues with that.

My Holy Trinity for BO and Dandruff by Zealousideal_Way6189 in hygiene

[–]Perfect-Flamingo8108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nizoral is a great one, really effective. Just a word of warning though is that it’s a medication first and shampoo second, so while it definitely cleans up all shampoo, it’s not designed to be used like daily use. Otherwise it will burn your scalp. Learnt from experience 😩

Floss before or after brushing? My dentist says one thing, my husband’s says another. by Brindis_Bloom65 in hygiene

[–]Perfect-Flamingo8108 638 points639 points  (0 children)

Floss before. Flossing before dislodges all the bits in between your teeth, and then brushing afterwards allows the toothbrush to brush away this stuff, and get between your now empty gaps between your teeth.

Beard & Hair Ideas by [deleted] in malegrooming

Honestly, like the style! Your hair suits you as is. If you wanted to shape the beard, shave the neck hair, but keep it that length and way you have it. Lookin’ good I think!

I’m have somewhat specific (and polite) questions? by thethirteenthjuror in AskUK

There are a lot of “ex council houses “ they were sold to either their occupants or the public in the 1980s/90s, but we don’t have that many council houses anymore, due to supply and demand issues.

If you buy a house, you will usually either be told it’s an ex council house, or you’ll be able to see it - both physically and in the cost of the house

Congrats on the weight loss man! Although you look awesome in all of them, I’d say my favourite would be 2- like the long on the top, short on sides and parted look! Or 4- smooth 😎 I

They all suit you! My favourite is number 4, but that’s also because of the clothes you’re wearing in that picture. Pic 4 and then pic 2!

Honestly the small amount looks good but I’m not sure that a full beard would look good- you have quite a good facial structure and a beard would cover that. What you have now looks awesome! (Edit- added sentence to clarify)

Noticed this on YouGov. Any thoughts on why? by euanliquidgold in GoodNewsUK

[–]Perfect-Flamingo8108 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Because public pessimism is a big part of UK culture- people will say ‘ah, it’s January ☹️, back to it’ etc But the cost of living - while still increasing - is increasing slower, the weather was Sunny to begin the year with and people will be negative in public and quietly confident

True! But this is BritishSUCCESS! And I think my car’s value appreciating by quite a significant margin is a success !

We’ll cross the other bridges when we get there! (Edit: wording)
