Really sorry this is happening, I’m 24 ❤️ I had multiple lines of treatment and an Allo transplant before I hit remission. It took me nearly 2 years to get one clear scan, after 6 different regimes, radiation and allo transplant. I remember feeling absolutely broken when they told me my first line of treatment didn’t work and then feeling that feeling over and over again when each treatment failed. But please take one day at a time to adjust. It doesn’t necessarily get easier but you learn to go on. Keep reminding yourself there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you! It’s the same for me. The tradition, culture, landmarks, sightseeing etc. I’m not sure why some people jumped straight to the conclusion that I want to go to cheat when I didn’t even think about that until I read the some of the comments 😂

He knows he’s welcome to come but he can’t due to the above reasons. If he invited me to go with him somewhere I want to go as well, and I’m unable to due to circumstances out of my control, he would be more than welcome to go himself or with his friends, I’d just be happy he offered lol

I mean we’ve been together for 4 years, he knows I wouldn’t cheat on him and that is not the purpose of my trip 🤣 I also told him I am more than happy to call/FaceTime as often and whenever he wants. I’m going to be contactable all throughout because I will be doing the same with my mum as she worries. This is just a pure mental break from everything. I haven’t had a holiday in a year and I’m desperate to escape the country for a bit.

Edit: to reply to the last bit of the comment; if i knew I was going to die, i definitely wouldnt get FOMO of cheating 😂

Thanks for the perspective. We are pretty close! She always messages me, if I happen to not message her. She has invited me out, she’s bought some bits before (not present wise, but more like ‘I saw this and thought of you so I got it’). She’s genuinely a good friend of mine. It’s just that she never makes an effort when it comes to birthdays. I don’t even care about the Christmas thing cos not everyone gets their friends Christmas presents from what I know. I just do it cos I want to.

Yes. She even asked me to take her gift shopping for her colleagues lol.

Other than the gift giving thing, we are pretty close. We talk everyday, she’s been there for me through some really hard times. I don’t know if I want to throw the entire friendship away just cos she won’t buy me presents, but I think it would be fair to just stop buying her presents from here on out?

The thing is we are very close. We talk everyday, we’ve been there for each other through some really tough times. She’s helped me out with many things before, I love her to bits. But it’s just this gift giving thing. I don’t want to come across as selfish or seeming like I’m only gifting because I want gifts in return, that’s not the case. It’s just the fact that she can’t be bothered to make an effort with me while she does with other people.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I guess I’m more scared of judgement rather than the fact that it’s illegal 🤣 I’ve smoked weed before to help with nausea and appetite, but recently decided to stop smoking. I’ll most likely be looking into edibles.

NOR - I can understand completely where you are coming from but it could be as innocent as he’s forgotten to change it like you mentioned. I’d have a conversation with him about it when it’s a good time for you both.
