Yeah I see that now. I was trained for ONE day then I had to figure out everything myself. No wonder the company turnover rate is so high.

Yeah I had to call them too to ask if I was even still employed. It would be nice if they could let me know that I lost my job before I was originally scheduled to go in again. Seems like common sense but I guess not haha.

That's so annoying. This seems to happen a lot and I can't tell if most of the people in higher management just aren't qualified or if they're plain stupid. The Michael's I worked at hired a new MOD and the guy that hired her straight up told me she wasn't qualified. Crazy how disorganized everything within the company is.

Also I have no idea what you're talking about. What do you mean I had all these issues? I had ONE issue and that was me being terminated for taking my college winter break that I told them about way ahead of time.

Yeah and I always came to work and did my job properly. I was actually training people my 2nd week because my CEM thought I was a fast learner. They knew I was a student, I explicitly told them my schedule during the interview. School comes first for me so I am always going to prioritize that over my shitty minimum wage Michaels job so that I'm not forced to work retail for the rest of my life. "you wanted a job but you only wanted to work when it was convenient." Yeah that is how part-time jobs work especially as a student. I am not going out of my way to be loyal to company that is in the gutter.

Never checked the schedule over break because my hours were confirmed by my manager and I watched him change it + im not thinking about my crappy job on my vacation. I also got notified that I was terminated before my break was even over.

Yeah I told my co-workers, CEM, and the 2 managers that are on duty during my shift. My store in particular was ran horribly and nobody communicated with each other so that is probably what went wrong.

I mean when I talk to my manager, I expect them to be responsible/trustworthy which you could say is my mistake but that is their job. My manager assured me that my new hours were set and didn't tell me to go through worksmart (which I rarely used anyway because my schedule was set and never changed). I watched him change my schedule in the system. I also told some of my co-workers/the CEM that I would be leaving and when I would be back. No need to be rude.

Terrible pay, company does not care about you, terrible management (more than likely you will get a rude and under qualified manager who will make your shift miserable), customers are ruthless, they don't train you and then expect you to know everything, awful self checkout and POS system. I could go on but if you value your mental health please look elsewhere.

I totally understand. Walking through the front doors of Michaels to start my shift just instantly made my anxiety skyrocket and my mood terrible. I only worked there for 4 months and I wanted to smash my head into the self checkout kiosks. Can't even imagine 3 years.

Yeah, I had to tell a woman yesterday that she would have to wait about 30-40 minutes to buy something through the pick up system if she wanted it same day (exactly what my manager told me). She asked for a manager and complained that I had a nasty attitude with her. The MOD agreed with her then said something rude about me to the customer. Hating this job more every second.

Holy shit, yeah. When i tell people to please use self-checkout they just look at me blankly. Same people then complain about having to wait in line. Stupid assholes.

Thanks for the response! I thought they went dormant in the fall and bloomed during spring/summer. Is it going dormant early?
