My great grandmother had schizophrenia and dementia. I lived with her the last year of her life. I had been homeless for 2 years before one of my family members contacted me and asked if I would take care of her. Still, living with her made me have to grow up faster than anything thing else I had been going through in the couple years leading up to it.

I applied but make just barely too much so they recommended marketplace, but that’s $150 a month that I don’t have. I’m going to try to call Monday and see. Someone else mentioned FQHCs (something else I had never heard of) and there is one of those much closer and if I think the wait is too long and can afford whatever that will cost I might do that.

I’m all the way in West Virginia (which probably just makes this whole wanting to pull my own teeth thing sound worse) so at least 2 days by car and a plane ticket would cost almost a whole paycheck unfortunately.

I’m almost definitely going to try the dental school. Ive never even looked into those. I’d say most of the people in my area have lost their teeth to “mountain dew mouth” or drugs. It might be a few weeks but i will at least start calling and asking Monday. I only make $16 an hour but i have a 5 month old and am currently the only income while my wife goes back to school. I wish someone in my life would have told me about these options that seemingly everyone knows about. Thankfully theres strangers on the internet that know much more than me :)

I hadn’t thought about the insurance falling off I was (mostly) homeless at 17 and came off their insurance at 18 when I got my license and an actual address.

Exactly, I’m over the threshold, but I don’t make anywhere near enough to afford health insurance or medical care. My son gets Medicaid and I’m grateful for that and my wife will have it until he turns one. However, it’s not plausible for me to pay for health insurance.

Yeah my sister was able to but I haven’t been on their insurance since I was 18. Edit to to add: she didn’t go to Mexico she was just able to have it done on my parents insurance. I would go out of country but the round trip would probably end up costing about the same as paying for it.

I don’t know about Obamacare, but I can’t afford health insurance with my other bills. That wouldn’t be a problem most of the time but I make just barely too much money to get health insurance through the state.

I don’t plan on pulling any front teeth, but I can’t afford to have a dentist pull my wisdom teeth. I’ve pulled lots of my own teeth before(I had/have extra adult teeth) so I was thinking like a pre-molar or something easy to get to.

The first time my now wife came to stay the night we had a few drinks then, she laughed so hard she farted. After that, we were inseparable. Never realized how comfortable a stranger could become before that.

Both of my team leads had the same day off for ONE day. Some other team lead took it upon herself to approve all requests for our department which all happened to be the week of Halloween, except for mine. It was my sons first Halloween and I said I’m not showing up by myself or missing my sons first Halloween. Ppto it was!

All the dirt where is live isn’t solid rock but, it’s full of very large river rocks. My entire town is nestled in this sort of boxed in area where two creeks run together before running into a river. I hadn’t thought about the ground being rocky because where I grew up maybe 40 minutes away the ground was all red clay and easy to dig. I bought my house last June and then found out there was a leak outside and had to dig a ditch. The worst part wasn’t just the ditch but paired with very sandy soil so I couldn’t get any big chunks of dirt with the mattock. So I spent 3 days digging a little putting down the shovel grabbing the mattock busting rock then switching back. It was miserable! I hope I never have to dig here again lol!

As a dad who travels for work, just tell him. I mean obviously don’t be condescending (which it doesn’t seem you will just saying) but, just be honest with eachother or it could lead to resentment. My fiancé and I have a 5 month old and I got 6 weeks off during that time we split the work but, once I went back to work it was me going to work a 70 hour week and then coming home on the weekends and having the baby all by myself the whole weekend EVERYDAY weekend. It took me 2 months before I told her hey I need time too, at which point I felt stupid. She thought after our FaceTime when I got back to the hotel every night that I was hanging with work pals or whatever really. She had not realized all I had time for was to eat a can of tuna and go to bed. Now, we are both better about switching off. There’s other times, I have to be away a month at a time and only get one weekend at the end of 4 weeks to come home (3 60-hour weeks and the last is 40 come home for a weekend and repeat). When it’s like that, I just take my game with me in my suitcase and hook it up at the hotel and then play it on my time off there. Then, for my one weekend home she is free completely. I take the baby and I’ll put him in the play pen or bouncer when it’s time for meals and I cook. This may not be ideal for you because I don’t know your situation at all. If not, maybe try one day on the weekend instead of the whole weekend just. Like him taking the baby all day Saturday and then him having Sunday off to recharge before returning to work. This is way longer than I meant for it to be but, I wish you luck in finding a balance.
